Does anyone else think that this young lad is the probably the biggest reason we won today, i certainly do. He really stood up! It's like time stands still when he gets the ball and every disposal is silk. I particularly loved his quick as lightning handball to grigg i think it was to snapped that goal. So much poise! It just shows that it's gonna be really hard to stop this developing midfield we have cos if you focus on Murph, Gibbs will tear you a new one as shown today :)

I hope Ratts saw his work in and under. Great for him to get a few clearances, especially with the "elephant man" he was roving against...

A very pleasing performance from Gibbs today. Particularly happy to see him push forward & kick a couple of goals. This is the aspect of his game that has been missing for much of this season. IMO, Gibbs just 'pipped' Judd for best on ground.

I'm glad he pulled his finger out of his ass. I thought we lost him for a bit. Watching the replays now. Excited for his future. :thumbsu:

I have been critical of Gibbs in the past, but today he was simply awesome. He was the reason we got back into that match.

Very talented player that's always had the skills, but today he was super. I'm guessing his efficiency was around 90%. The way he provided us with run through the midfield and put his body on the line today was outstanding.

Keep it up Gibbsy! :thumbsu:

Hasn't been anything special over the past month or so and really needed a big performance to get back on track.

He well and truly delivered and was fantastic this evening - a major reason why we came away from the game with 4 points.

Let him loose to hurt the opposition and he will deliver. None of this behind the ball crap - get him pushing through the midfield and the forward line and he'll become exceptionally damaging.

20 years old, and a fantastic talent. What a future!

What an amazing performance from Bryce today,
He really stood up, 33 disposals and 2 goals, amazing!
He led from the front with help from Juddy,
He's been doing his job quietly this season, but today he showed us everything he's got. It was an absolutely stunning performance from the young guy :)
and to think he just turned 20 in march!! wow, what a future this kid has :D
Go Gibbsy :D

Terrible move by Harvey to continue to play Gibbs and Hill head to head right through the second half, was one of the reasons the Dockers lost the game. Neither were paying any respect to their opponent and both got to pretty much run free for most of the second half. The big difference was that Gibbs impact on the game was huge whereas Hill didn't really do much damage at all.

Thank the lord Bryce finally pulled his finger out of his ass and played some decent football it was about time. I juts wish Ratten would have given him the opportunity to be a more attacking midfielder like he did today. He got up forward and snagged 1 or 2 and a point also. Gibba should be a goal or 2 player every game and then he is alot more damaging, not his fault tho.

BOG for me, kept us in the game all day. Then in the last teamed up with Judd, Murphy to turn the screws. Seems to have run himself into form at the right time of the year for us. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

think everybody has been a little harsh on him of late on this forum

I blame Ratts for continuing to play him out of the middle or as a tagger for most of the year. Other coaches then just took the player he tagged out of the middle to keep him out of the game (Sydney game with Goodes and Essendon first game with Monfries prime examples as they just pushed up forward!!!)

He should be left in the middle as he straightens us up by finding space and providing the spot up target in the corridor. He should also be left to play the game on his own terms ... he has a superior footy brain to 99% of the AFL players and knows where to go and find the footy ... so i cant understand why Ratts always has him playing tagging roles on guys who take him to the wrong spots or have him concentrating on negating rather than attacking

he played a great game against the Saints and it was no surprise we copped 5 goals in that game when he was in the forward pocket (???) and then got control of the game when he went into the middle in the second quarter (had 10 posessions, most of them contested) ...

he was also our best midfielder for mine last week too and chopped the Bombers up in the second quarter until it all got ugly!!!

just think eveybody's standards for him our way too high ... he's not Judd ... he's 20 years of age ... and IMO less deserving of the criticism he gets on this forum compared to other duds on our list who get toasted for doing very little!!!

:thumbsu: very true , good post ,
i agree, he's 20 , i can't believe just how good this guy will get, when he can do things like what he did today at the age of 20!! Let him play the game on his own terms. the goals he kicked today , wow!! could not wipe the smile off my face:D
Gotta love the way Gibbsy goes about his work .

He was amazing.

Fantastic he kicked those goals, but his work once again in the clearances really made me gasp.

Hope he keeps it up, or more the point, I hope he's utlilized the same way by Ratts because he's so damaging in this role.
Well done Gibbsy, well done.
