Was it just me???
Buckley at half time was really talking up some of our kids and the fact that we played such a good second quarter and when Bruce asked him if he wanted the Tigers job he was very quick to poiint out he has not been contacted but would certainly welcome a call.
Almost seemed a bit upset he had not heard from the Tigers yet.
Anyone else get this feeling??

Re: Buckley at half time

No

I think his sights are set elsewhere to be honest .

He'll only come to Richmond if someone is holding a shotgun to his head.

Re: Buckley at half time

id be doing cartwheels if bucks coached us. Demanded the best as a player and one would have to say he single handedly got collingwood into 2 gf's with an average list.

I wonder what he thought of us after the game? We were all excited at half time.

Re: Buckley at half time

After listening to the commentry tonight I'm much more in favour of Bucks now.

And an a couple of interesting comments from Lethal. Firstly he said he would almost certainly not be coaching again.

The second one was about Deledio. He said he was a lot like Paul Medhurst in that he doesn't get much of the ball and is a forward who doesn't kick enough goals for his postion. I'm actually kind of glad he said he won't be coaching again after that comment.

Re: Buckley at half time

I was not endorsing Buckley he just seemed keen.
I think that if Malthouse re-signed then Buckley would take whatever he can get.

why not endorse him? I do.

I meant that no i got no feeling whatsoever that he wants to coach us. He is a pro and will get a gig at a better more professional outfit than ours

Sorry I missed that TM.
He is actually my second choice but he is unlikely to be available if my first choice is ;)

The club is to ****ing stupid to contact someone like Buckley. They will persist with our "favourate son" who embodies our 27 years of selfish failure culture. Once again Richmond get it right FFS GET HIM BEFORE ANOTHER CLUB DOES....

Re: Buckley at half time

Great players aren't always great coaches. I think too many people are expecting things to change now. We still have a sh1t list with too many old players. With G.C coming in, it'll be so hard to recruit effectively. It'll be 20 years before we see finals.

Re: Buckley at half time

When I heard Buckley earlier on in the week was going through the Richmond list and put a big line through Pettifers name, I knew right then he was a man in the know :p

Re: Buckley at half time

Bucks is no dill - he'll steer well clear of a Richmond job, especially given what your club generally does to coaches. Other than Northey, who's coached again after coaching Richmond and failed?

No newbie wannabe career coach would start at Richmond unless they came from Richmond. Malthouse or Campbell will be your next coach for mine.

Hey I have been saying that for 3 years maybe I should apply for the coaching job:eek:

hehe

This is what i picked up on through a couple of comments; "cambos mate and footy director T.Free, he has some heavy's in the right places" and cambo being the "annointed one"
Just get the feeling people are starting to hint that this is a done deal and don't bother even applying

hope I'm wrong

LMAO you obviously havent spent 5 mins in the Richmond board then only 2 weeks ago we were told how his 30 goal a season efforts were exactly what we need. :p

I actually got excited that Buckley went through our list, must mean he is thinking aobut it :thumbsu:

On AW during the week he said - A broom has to go through the playing list. Brown and Bowden have to go, Simmonds reinvented as a forward as he can’t ruck no more, if the forward lines no good he has to go. And Petts and McMahon are “list cloggers” preventing younger players getting a game. He’s thinking all right

I got that impression, too. I don't want him as our next coach but I want him to want to be our coach, so I liked it :)

Give the man a 3 year contract :thumbsu::p

Re: Buckley at half time

Your just scared we will take Buckley from you. Malthouse will never go... eddie loves him.

I'm happy for Bucks to hone his skills elsewhere and am also happy if Malthouse stays another 3 years - I'm just worried about the psychological damage Bucks could suffer after a 3 year stint with your mob.

I still have nightmares from the mid nineties when Tony Shaw was rushed in to coach us because Al McAlistair didn't want him coaching elsewhere and look where it go us.

You guys are still a long way off a flag - Wallace and his merry men haven't done a great deal with what he inherited from Spud. A bit of promise, a bit of potential but missing a fair bit of star quality. A lot of blue collar types at Tigerland.

Hey Dinglebury,
If you listen to Buckley talk about Richmond, he'd come to us in a heartbeat.

And here's the problem....not for us....but your mob.
If you sign Malthouse.....Buckley is ours if we want him.
If you sign Buckley....Malthouse is ours if we want him.
Ever played Poker? It doesn't matter what face you put on.
We are going to force you to kiss your own ass goodbye!!

You are no closer to Richmond in winning another flag with the other better teams around. Stop dreaming fool!
Collingwood plays a few young guys and you think you've got a flag coming up. Wrong.

If you take Malthouse again....and we take Buckley and he does something, anything more with our team than Wallace did, you won't be getting him back in 3 years. Fool!
So if you think Buckley is a while off, you will have to grab him for next year, or else someone will grab him.

So what is it smart guy?????
Do we have you by the left gooly or the right one?
I think we have the lot!!!

Whahahahahaha
