My thoughts are yes. Especially if we go close this year, ie. lose a prelim.
If we win the flag he'll call it a day though, no doubt.

I hope so...

I would say if we came close but don't take home the flag this year he would be 50:50 on whether to play on... That is dependent though on whether his hamstrings hold out for the remainder of the season. If they go again I dare say he will definately retire!

If he does a hammy again this year then a definite no .
He might go through the 'off season' and see how his body feels but I suspect he might have had enough .

can't see why not.

he's had a year off and given a "smart" preseason the only risk we have is not having a replacement, but that can be worked around with the rookie list.

I said this 2 weeks ago on this board that i heard from a mate at work thats close with a family member of bucks that he will play on in his last year in 08

i think you are spot on about the "smart" pre-season.

Give him a program that gets him ready to play as a forward, dont put too many miles into his legs, keep him lean, and focus on leg strength so that his surrounding muscle groups take some pressure off the hammy's

I would love to see him again next year - but i dont no if i am saying this because i cannot let go to what has been a brilliant career.

I am 22 yrs old and for me Buckley has been such a part of my growing up as a collingwood supporter that i (and i am sure many others) would feel quite weird if he was not longer involved. But it needs to happen at some point doesn't it....

well if he isn't playing in 2008 now would be the time to tell the pies supporters :thumbsu:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. He will play next season, barring another hamstring injury. If he was going to retire this season, he would've done so.

There is still a slight chance that he may be waiting to see where we are at in regards to the final 8. If we lose this week then Adelaide will be a sudden death match, and he will announce it during that week.

Otherwise, there is no reason why he cannot go another season as a forward to help the younger kids develop, if you'd like to know why, then watch the Willy game on the weekend.

i think it might be an idea to play him in the centre

if he was to play forward this would probably put more pressure on his hammies due to the stop/start

Provided he doesn't get delisted, he should be there.

hmm i have a feeling he may be one that gets chopped... my brothers friends cousins said that his neighbour works with someone who has a very reliable source within the club and he might be delisted...

Considering the work he has put in to come back this year you'd have to say he would be odds on to continue if his body holds up for the next couple of games.

Provided he doesn't get delisted, he should be there.
Or unless he got traded...both are just as likely.:p

Buckley delisted? LOL.

I'm not sure if he'll play on, but it will be his decision, one way or the other.
