Buckley wont play until Round 3

Have heard that bucks wont play until Round 3 of the home and away season. Apparently he will miss the round 1 clash against the Kangas, he wont travel to perth for the clash against the Eagles, and will be in cotton wool until Round 3. Hoping this is incorrect, has anyone else heard this is the case?

Didn't hear it from a "friend of a nurse at the hospital", was a remark made by a individual l don't really know, but who is a social club member, and apparently knows the inner sanctum. As l said l'm hoping this is not correct, and l'm hoping Bucks trained at full tilt this morning.

Well the guy was probably just saying that if Buckley isn't right for round 1, he won't play until round 3 seeing as we've rested him for the Subi trip before.

hell no not fair enough about the eagles!!!! we havent seen bux play a home and away game over here at subi for god knows how long!! so he better be playing!!
i am part of the supporter group over here and i know from experience that if he isnt here, a lot of people will not be happy. we were hoping to have him as our guest of honour at our function this year, so he better be coming!!!

Dude, just trust that the medical staff know what they're doing. It's a shame that you don't get to see him play much over there, but we're lucky to have had this guy at all. Lets try and prolong his career. If he makes it through this season unscathed, he might even go around again. But if he twangs his hammy, it's just about curtains.

So you would rather he travel to Perth so you can watch him play once in person, which subsequently contributes to him playing 10-20 less games in his career?

Seems like a pretty silly tradeoff to me.

It has nothing to do with trading off games etc... I too would like to see him play for one more year, but I would still like to see him here!!

I was just saying that if they dont send him just so he can be rested, seeing as its only round 2, then it is pretty poor. He can be rested at all opportunities during the year, by why do it at the start.Fair enough if he is injured as I said but we do deserve to see our captain playing as well. We are members and supporters just like everyone else. And yes a lot of people in Perth would love the chance to watch him play as we havent seen him here forever. As I said you guys in Melbourne wouldnt understand because if he dont play you can still see him at training and hear him on the radio etc.. but we over here get nothing!!

Dont think he is back training yet so definitely in doubt for round 1 but it is a way off yet.

I hope he doesnt travel to Perth, Rocca probably shouldnt either, its not worth it

But he is probably about 25% chance of playing rd1, wont play rd4 either so may be a case of either back for ANZAC Day or comes back rd3, has rd4 off and back in for rd5, will be missing more footy than last year

Let's not skirt the issue - You would want him to play, despite the fact that it would reduce the length of his career, just so you can see him.

Maybe us Victorians are spoilt for having been able to see him, but I can't imagine that I'd want to see him play if it meant his career being shorter.

Allright i know this will upset a few people. Bucks is not the be all end all to us winning. Hes mid late 30s and has 2 dudd legs. It was frustrating seeing him playing last year when he wasnt 100%. Then im on the edge of my seat every time he twitches or trips. we are a team of many players not a team of one. Sure he has the leadership qualitys and is a great lift out on the field when he is on but it seems like he is more often off then on lately.
