lol, don't say you would have thought to have went Gilbert over Gilbee at the start of the season.

One of my mates who is a Saints fan was constantly telling me to jump on Gilbert during the pre-season, said he was in for a huge year. I thought he was pulling my leg so went with Gilbee and Fisher instead! :o

i started with franklin, deledio and foley, bought ablett last week, had richo captain last week with his 29, ended up loosing by lest then 30, bought skipworth the week befor he got injured

Joel MacDonald is giving him a fair challenge. Pity i have them plus Gilbee, Newman, Goodes and David Hille till this week. :o:o

The question is, do you think Franklin might be worth buying at a cheaper price??

Especially since he has Essendon on deck!

Yeah Id like to hear from hawks supporters for their take on whats the go with buddy. Is he gonna come good? Cause he will be the main discussion point at this weeks board meeting at my sc team

Duddy was meant to explode against Carlton.

There are a number of factors why Duddy is sucking.

1. Hawks aren't travelling the best, certainly not as well as last year.

2. Duddy has started believing his own hype.

3. If he doesn't kick bags, he doesnt score alot. As opposed to Roo and Pav who can post 100s without kicking more than a goal or two.

4. He butchers it a fair bit, gives away FAs consistently... both of which are frowned upon in SC.

I'm kicking myself for taking Duddy over Pav. Pav has always been a starter in my team.. till this year. :o

If i didnt have him i wouldnt be touching him until he both posts a couple of hundreds and looks to have his mojo back.

I think the more important question is "is he fully fit"? No good assuming he'll "come good" if he's secretly carrying an injury which the Hawks are happy to live with because:

1 - 70% Buddy is still a great player (but will score only 80 SC points per week!)
2 - he takes the best defender

By round 6 last year did he only have 18 goals? He needs 6 per week from here to reach last year's total. He also needs to average 116 per week from here to reach last year's SC average.

Not sold at all ... I think I'll wait 1 breakout week to be sure I am not trading in another under-performing gun to worry about each week.

And he IS a gun, no question. But is he fit .... ? Still, at $433K you might take the 82 point average per week, and wait for the huge week every so often.

He will possibly come good later in the season but I wouldn't be jumping on board until he can post consecutive 100+ scores.

Geez he was firmly in my plans this week for an upgrade for me skippy given his price. Im sick of these week long headaches sc keeps giving me

Like Hondo said you can take the punt and hope he breaks out this week.. or just live with 80s and the occasional 100.

I wouldn't, but thats just me. :p

Even if he scores a couple of 100s in a row he wont go up much at all.. and then you have a little more confidence in buying him.

Gilbee came of average form last year so anyone taking him was taking a chance.

Thankfully I didn't start with Buddy though he was penciled in for my final 7. Now I will have to wait and see. Consider that Hawthorn is not playing as well with injuries and that Roughead is doing a lot of the forward work this season too. To shine Buddy is having to do a bit of a Richo in moving up field at at this stage he cannot take the marks Richo can and is not quite in his class.

I traded out Joel MacDonald this week for Bowden. I was warned that Adcock and Drummond being back would mean MacDonald would no longer be the link man ... but i didn't listen.

Hmmm his next 3 games are against Bombers, Freo and Dees. Perfect games for Buddy to get back into form. The only thing stopping me for trading him in, is I'm just not sure he's 100% fit.

Was thinking going:

Krakeour -> Buddy

this week, as i think Buddy will average more then Krak from now on. But buddy hasn't shown any signs of improvment so now I'm not sure .

Yep huge dissapointment I was looking for a 100-150 score.

Im more dissapointed in cloke thank **** I got rid of him this week.

Got Buddy, disappointing to say the least, somethings not right with him, eiither carrying something or its a head space issue. Scoring 80's is better than a Rookie every week.
I would hold off another a week as his price will drop again next week. Hawthorns Back 6(their Key to the holy grail) isnt settled, Gilham back this week will help. Once this line is settled again, we will see a Duddy turn back to Buuuuuuuuuuuudddddddddddyyyyyy

As someone who doesn't have him, I'm definately considering him this week as a underpriced upgrade from poxy cloke. Wanted to upgrade last week but I've been plagued by injury and there's been bigger holes to fix

I doubt he'll go any lower, and its not like he's scoring 20's which would really hurt you. Can only go up, unless as someone said he's carrying something...

Buddy is a Big Showtime player, raises to the occasion sort of thing.. Half the Hawks are out.. and not much intensity to win games... Watch him shine in the mid-late season when the Hawks are going strong for a top 4 place and the Hawks need to win BIG games.... then we will see Big Buddy carving the opposition up to take the lime light..

Wish he was doing more for my team now, but the Hawks need big things from him to have a crack at the Premiership Defence...

Is Skipworth > Franklin this week a good choice?

I've been contemplating this trade for weeks now. I think Buddy is at one of his lowest points so now would be a good time to pounce. But hes in crap form, and may end up dropping even further and not getting the high scores id need from him.

As has been repeatedly said, waiting a few or two will definately not hurt your chances... unless you're copping a zero or playing a spud like Walker.
