The HS is speculating that John Butcher may fall outside the top 10 in the ND.
If this were to happen and we secured pick #11 from Carlton (assuming they do not go back on their word), then I would be stoked to get him.
Potentially a risk, but a risk we would be mad not to take.
Watts, Butcher, Trengove, Scully. Holy heck….

If he falls to 11 it will mean our selectors will have alot of pressure to pick the right one out of him Talia/ Carlisle and who ever is left

I think that it would be a tremendously easy decision. Talia is more a backman (overrated imo) and Carlisle, whilst very athletic and talented, is probably too speculative at 11.

It would be an easy choice to daft Butcher at that level if we were so fortunate.

That article in the herald sun is unrealistic.
If Butcher is available at pick 11 we will grab him no questions asked.

Not a chance he will fall through to the dogs at 15.

I agree and can't see Butcher will fall to Pick 11. If he does, I will be laughing with joy.

If the Tigers don't take him at 3, Port will take him at 8 or 9, assuming Burgoyne deal to Hawthorn goes through. Can't see him sliding to 11.

Butcher pick 5 to the Kangas.

Cunnington pick 5 to the Roos.

They've got Hale there at the moment, they've got Josh Smith coming through and they've got Corey Jones and Aaron Edwards as depth.

They'd also want to replace Stevens in the midfield which enhances the chances of them picking a midfielder at #5.

I said this in the other thread. You do the math and North is the most likely with Port a possibility at 8. I actually think he will slide. A lot!

P1 Scully
P2 Trengove
P3 Martin - Rich
P4 Mora - Freo
P5 Cunnington - North - Cunnington is shinbonner spirit
P6 Rohan - Sydney
P7 Lucas - WCE
P8 Panos - Port - I really think Port will go with the local boy
P9 Talia - Hawks - or a mid if Port get it
P10 Vardy - Bombers -to replace Hille or a mid to replace Lovett
P11 Butcher

 What?

Stevens has been retired for years so don't know why they need to replace him now. They are lacking a key position forward. Hale is a ruck and poor forward. Petrie is good but getting on. Edwards has never showed much above VFL level. Josh Smith may wear Carey's number but that is about all he has in common with the great man and Jones is a small who will be lucky to be on the list next year.

They may get Dusty Martin if he is still available but I am fairly sure Butcher is their man.

They still have Hansen and Tarrant developing.

I think they'll get Martin if he's available, no doubt.

I'm feeling a lot of love for Martin at 3 from the tiggers.

I'm feeling the top 4 is nearly settle.

Scully, Trengove, Martin and Morabito.

Cunnington probably at 5.

and i Think the Swannies will take Butcher. Barry and Micky O out, Jesse White and John Butcher in. Not too shabby.

According to HS the swans are pretty keen on Rohan. Probly a fair chance that the tigers will take Butcher imo

Might fall in 6, 8, 10

Sydney - Lost Hall so they need a FF
Port - Still hasnt got a FF for yonks
Bombers - Need a forward to go with Hurley or Neagle.

While they are possibilities of snapping up Butcher they can easily pass over him.

Sydney - May gain Fevola, they have Lewis Johnston who hasn't played yet and may entice them to go with Rohan like they seem to be looking likely to do.

Port - I see them going with local and taking Panos as they know what'd they'd be getting compared to the unknown and risk of Butcher. Then with the pick #9 they get from the Burgoyne trade I can see them going with a mid in Tapscott to try fill the void left by Burgoyne.

Bombers - Still seem to be banking on Gumbleton becoming injury free and could look at a midfielder in Koby Stevens.

It's easy to make an argument for and against but in the end it just makes the whole process that much more unknown and intriguing, can't wait till draft night.

There is an article on HUN just came out that tigers are going for a mid at 3 aka Martin and Bombers are also! You still have a big chance...Think Syd will take Rohan its Port having the the double pick at 8 and 9 that will get you. Even if they don;t get 9 i think he will go at 8 if not you would be home...Scully, Trengove and Butcher is a premiership defining draft for the Dee's

So much young talent coming through from last draft and this draft...
