Hey everyone.

Does anyone have Buzz! (for PS2). I've seen it around all over the place and have heard some good things. Looks like a fun game to play. Has anyone played it and if so, what are your thoughts? I think JB have it (the music one) for $77 at the moment including the 4 buzzers, though I think I'd prefer the general quiz one.

Is it too Americanised?

I've got the Music one, not Americanized at all, but gets boring quite quickly. The buzzers are a b*tch to keep untangled. Good for a rent, but doesn't have enough replay value to warrant a purchase methinks.

Unless you have no friends and intend to play it by yourself I fully recommend the Music one, but the General Knowledge one is pretty crap IMO.
Buzz is easily the best Ps2 game to play with a bunch of friends :thumbsu: and as Matera Goal said the buzzers are a bitch to keep untangled, it takes a good 10 minutes to untangle them before you play :thumbsd:
Wireless buzzers would be ideal, but the chances of that happening any time soon are very low

If anything, I suspect the games originate from the UK. Some of the music questions are about songs/artists that I've never even heard of before. Don't let that put you off, because they are few and far between.

As someone else suggested, it's not the sort of game you'd want to buy if you're only going to be playing solo because it definitely would get boring. Good for a laugh if you have a few friends over, especially if you're downing a few refreshing ales.

Good game, but best for parties/get-togethers, so it is good for that, however as said, gets boring. There are plenty of questions and you only see the same question (that you've done in a game before) a couple of times, so it isn't repetitive after a while questions wise.

Both are pretty good, but the Music one is better entertaining.

Funny thing is last new years eve i played this with my mates, after 10 beers i was a bit rocky, but still managed to answere the questions about 1-2 seconds after they appear. Beer is the key to success

Buzz! Sports Quiz is coming soon, as all owners of AFL Premiership 2006 would probably know (back of user manual).

Got both Music and Biq Quiz (with bundle) from JB. Good price at $76 for the bundle, and $54 for the extra game. Can't wait till the SQ comes out though!

No way a sports game is always gonna be better then buzz with a bunch of friends, give me a NBA 2K6, Fifa Street (soccer is way better on sony then in real life) or a Smackdown vs Raw anyday over Buzz. That is unless of course your friends have no skills with the sticks.

Another vote for buzz = best multi player game.
It's brilliant with a few mates and the points stealer type rounds can become real vindictive.
I HATE beat the bomb.

We spent hours upon hours with the music quiz but haven't really gotten into the big quiz. It's less fun i think.

PS - Wireless buzzers are on the cards. Will likely be ps3 as they'll be bluetooth then.

My cousin and friend have copies. Fun to play with a group of people. The only thing that ruins it is that the later rounds go really quickly.

It would be good if you could change it so you can play more rounds.

And I hate beat the bomb. It's really annoying when you always get stuck with it, and by the time you think it's someone else's turn, the round is over!

I was told that Jason Donovan is the voice of the host.

Yeah, I read on JB's website on the game descr, that Donovan is the host.

and yeah, beat/pass the bomb is the worst...it is amazing how many times you play it with people (who have played it before) how much we all moan when the round comes up...along the lines of "ahh, i hate this one"
