bombers are gone as much as hate too say this i think bottom four is were we are going this year.

I think your right bees. Priority now is to bring on the kids. Get as many games into them as we can. Playing blokes such as Campo ( hasn't played yet this year I know ), Bolton, Heff, Pev and the Johnsons is holding back any progress we could be making. Short term pain for long term gain should be the attitude taken I think.

Christ, we're only one game out of the 8. If we cant win at least 3 more games till Round 12, then Im prepared to write this season off once more.

thank god there's richmond, because we're the 2nd worst side in the comp at the moment.

this team is extremely frustrating to watch. we play bullshit football - chip, backwards, sideways football with no real purpose to get the ball up the ground.

that said, 2007 is not finished with. we're only 3-4. but the players need to play footy, and not try to play the easy possession game.

****en grow up boys!!

So you think we would have lost night with Lloyd playing?

Not sure, but i certainly don't think we were guaranteed a win with him in.

With all due respect, we only played North, who i doubt will play finals.
They also lost Wells during the game.
We have only beaten teams with large injury problems.
We have much harder games ahead.
We are soft physically and mentally.

You guys do realise what difference matthew Lloyd makes to our team. We would've won more games if he had not have been injured last year. There are some problems within the team.

No-one expected us to do any good. They were right

agree with mcgarnacle totally, the fact that we were on Friday night footy on TV, would have made for such boring viewing with our crap footy, we decided in the last qtr to play footy when it was over, by then i would have preferred to watch the pussycat dolls show, now thats exciting stuff, not kicking the ball sideways, backwards chipping around and the handball crap

Better hope they change there ways or bottm 4 will b looking good, what happen to the direct footy from the first 3 rounds ???

If we played like we did in that last quarter, play on and get the ball down to our forward 50, then don't say goodbye just yet.

Will probably have to go 9-6 from now to make it. Cant see it happening myself but then i didnt see it at the start of the year either.

yeah i think would need that 9-6 cant see that happening. the way they played in the last trem was the bombers of round 1 and 2. changes are needed play the young kids and just see how they go (1993)

Before the start of the year, not many people predicted that Essendon would make the 8. So we won a few games, WOOHOO, that doesnt make our team any better than at the start of the year. Most people would have believed the finals to be a pipe dream, so we shouldnt be too dissapointed if we dont make it.

Interesting you should say that Ant robus. P. Jackson said last night before the game, the Dons had the personnel to at least make the eight this year. And the Dons were not rebuilding because they had enough foundation players eg. Fletcher, Lloyd, Lucas and Hird. It is indeed confusing to know who to believe- maybe you should take a break from your hard work Ant robus, and swap with Jackson ? I have a feeling he is a bit off the mark.

LOL well footy clubs are well known for their rhetoric :D Im not sure if i am a good enough spin doctor for the job.;)

Of course we can still make it. It's only round 7.

People make the all too common fault of basing their predictions for the rest of the seaosn on the last game they witnessed. If you're going to make the prediction that Essendon is "gone" based on last week, or the week before (both without Lloyd) why not base your predictions on round 1 or round 2? After all, it's still the same team with mostly the same players.

Last night we played poorly for much of the game, yet still had more scoring shots, and should have been 5 goals up at quarter time. We know we can play better because we have seen us play better in the first 4 rounds. All of us saw it and witnessed it.

In fact, we've had more scoring shots in 5 of our 7 matches this year!

There is no reason, based on what we've seen (and given most of our key players remain avaialble) that we cant win about half our games and challenge for the eight.

You'd think we were 1-6 they way people carry on. We've got two winnable matches coming up and I think we're good enough to be 5-4.
