Essendon is definitely tanking the season. Even Sheedy's comments after the game almost indicated that fact.
Our next clash with the Bombers could potentially see two coaches coaching to lose, it could become farcical!

Blues supporters breath a sigh of relief, the spoon is not ours!

But in a way I wanted to earn not winning the spoon! So hopefully we win a few more this year to ease my conscience!

GO BLUES

It's just a matter of not getting more than 16 points. Essendon will definately take out the spoon.

I'm still hopeful of winning 4-5 or more games in the second half of the season, for me, that will be a great way to finish off.

Not too fused. There's no priority pick and this years draft will go pretty deep.

I like the look of our list this year - just need some more wins!!
Finally selecting players who'll be the Blues future. Gibbs will obviously be good - but I'm rapt we have Murph and Josh Kennedy. :)

im hoping for 2 more wins. one against essendon and one from another

it may not be as good as a priority pick at the start of the first round but with picks 2, 18 & 20 they are just as good. that extra pick will do us wonders

Bye bye and good riddance to Gibbs if it means we don't get the spoon. However Essendon are demonstrating a bit of fight and still have many prime movers in their side that can lift them to a win over us and maybe someone else. We are still on shaky ground as far as the spoon goes IMO. The percentage difference is not much and one big loss to us and an Essendon win against us and we are last.

I don't believe the Bombers are tanking ... no way. They did nothing last night to show they should have won that game and threw it away.

Exactly. I'm glad we're not faced with the silly situation that occurred last year i.e. losing Murphy and Kennedy if we beat Essendon. Regardless of whether we tanked it or not, it was a ridiculous situation to be in. Hoping we'll string a few wins together now. Some promising signs developing. :)

Bryce Gibbs or no Bryce Gibbs, I just don't want another spoon!

Hopefully we win tonight, because I got a pretty bad feeling we'll lose to Essendon :o

Couldn't agree more. IMO we're better off developing a winning culture by beating a few teams rather than worrying about getting better picks.

Play to win every game, that's the way our great teams played and that's how we should be playing now.

You know that 17 year old who you spent many an hour, spending your 'valuable' time talking about.
Like you've just done? ;)
Arguing for the sake of it.
Arguing because I believed in it after I listened to both sides of the argument and I was proven right.

Lachlan Hansen is the one for Carlton but I'll be happy with either player then Gumbleton and Thorp. Gibbs is just being hyped because of his famous name, the debate over the F/S rule and so people can twist the knife into the Crows back once more. :)

I agree with you 'Sticks' I want Carlton to go out there and win every game they can, I don't care about who we can get if we finish last or whereever. I rather see Carlton WIN and get some respect back from the other sides.

Is Gibbs really that good that you would want to 'win' another spoon for him? I would prefer to see the bombres feeling what we have felt over the past few seasons- so what if they get lucky and do it in a 'convenient' year? Carlton will be better off in the long run with a star KPP like Hansen or Gumbleton, than a homesick Gibbs whom we might lose in a much poorer draft year.

There'll be plenty more in the draft.

Exaactly. Will develop alot better that way.

I want us to win, but if we lose, there is always a bit of me thinking about that good pick going along with Murphy, Blackwell, Simpson, Kennedy and everybody else.

We are developing a side that will hopefully play finals and contend for a premiership.
