What I found more gutless was the following incident.

In 3rd quarter the ball kicked to Roo who was running onto it to take a mark. Pickett lines him up from some 10 meters, runs in and once he realises its Roo, he pulls out of the contest and lets Roo take uncontested mark.

I guess he just likes picking off people that are not expecting it.

did you see the incident? Perhaps someone at the ground did. Pretty difficult to tell. Looks to be bretts fault for not going hard enough. Not one of byrons cheap hit the man going for the ball ones. Liked that the teammates got in there, shirely from the back bone grp, thommo too, would of been nice if some of the younger players had a go.

Agree hes a dog though. Did nothing as a player either, perhaps changed the momentum after his hit but didnt do anything else. Will be finished in 2-3 yrs imo.

rotten to the core...

some people you dislike but can't help but respect them for what they do...

This guy however has no honour, no class and is completely unsportsmanlike...

Choke on the loss "choppy", your career will be forcibly short-lived if you continue to play the way you do!!

It looks to me like he uses sport to be violent... If only he played the ball not the man, after all the game is won on the scoreboard not in the tribunal !!

did you see the bump live>? It looked more as if biglands didnt protect himself.

Well I got told off tonight for questioning whether Biglands initiated the contact... I saw the first angle where Biglands ran past his man..correctly to lay the shepherd..then I see him on the ground. Did Pickett react to the shepherd or was there more to it... the angles on tv were from Picketts perspective. Please elaborate?

Nice pic! Speaking of Roo, when he was kicking from inside 50m in the last few minutes and Pickett was on the mark, I was secretly hoping he would kick into the man on the mark...straight into his face. :o

Funny you should say that. When Roo was lining up for that one, I turned to my uncle and said, I would rather Roo kick the crap out of the footy into Pickett's face than score a goal :D

We never got a look at it from the right angle to really say what happened.

All I'll say is that Pickett has become irrelevant to the game of football.

The idea of playing footy is basically to get the ball. He does very little of that as he's more interested in sniping unsuspecting players.

Pickett's career as a meaningful AFL footballer is finished IMO.

if the tribunal can get clear footage of the incident picketts gone for a third time for a illegal bump which should bring a hefty penalty
he jumped big time in to biglands and that is illegal so it will be high contact medium impact intentional and in play so thats 7 points i belive which correct me if im wrong thats a straight to the tribunal case?

As a Port supporter I will say your correct 100%.

Pickett simply is not interested and does not want to be there for a start and I think he has played his last game for Port Adelaide.

Then by your own words shouldn't Biglands be going for the ball instead of trying to shepard??? Part of playing football means using your body legally within and around contests... whether it is to hold your ground in a marking contest, to provide a blocking shepard, to provide a bumping shepard ... or to defend yourself against other other collisions.

Ohhhh and he has a Norm Smith medal to show how much of the ball he gets.

They need to get the guy off to the shrink to get any more footy out of him.

The guy certainly has ability, look at last year's GF.

This year hasn't been good, and his 2 finals have been deplorable.

Fences can be very comfortable places at times :) . I can't comment because I didn't see it clearly enough but unfortunately for Byron his reputation will not hold him in good stead.

Mark Williams has said he wants to 'employ' Pickett as he thinks Pickett is 'hard at the ball'.

For the record I dont think there appeared to be nothing in the Biglands incident.

But if Byron does not want to be out there and is not interested then he is a liablility.

How can you say that? His game against Freo was fantastic two weeks ago. He definitely has a role at Pt Adelaide. I do believe that Choco is too lenient with him however. Needs to pull his head in a bit.

I've heard this is his last game. I sincerely hope so.

I've met him before in Ceduna and can honestly say he is an absolute dog and has that reputation within the Ceduna community...in which he is a frequent visitor...and has that reputation both with the indigenous and non-indigenous community.

There may have been nothing in the Biglands incident...I only saw it from the TV perspective, however he DID deviate from the line in which he was running to clean up Biglands. I'm not sure what Biglands game was...maybe to "block" him from the contest, but Pickett (being Pickett) decided to take it one step further and used his momentum to clean up Biglands.
Well, thats what I saw.

I thoguht it was a reasonably fair bump. Biglands went for the contact....if he went down like a sack of spuds with no head contact then thats his bad luck. You know when Jack backs Byron Pickett then theres nothing in it. Id say most other Crow players - Roo, Mcleod, Goodwin, Thompson etc. would have gotten straight back up.

He needs to make the decision.

Professional footballer, or professional boozehound.

As Metallica would say, you know it's sad but true.

One of the injury reports out of the Adelaide camp was Biglands with a knock to the head. Please tell me it wasnt through a third gutless act of thuggery

you wanted someone that saw the whole thing, you got it!

i happened to be sitting in the power section of the crowd right inn front of the incedent. He deviated and took Rhett right out. Nearly got my head knocked off by the power ferals in front of me, but i dont care. He coped the biggest spray i have ever delivered

What really boiled my blood was when the ferals behind me started justifying assholes hit on him.

A good solid bump nothing more, nothing less. I saw it too.
