Hello all, once again I've been doing some thinking (2 days in a row - this must be some kind of record for me
)
Another far our idea that I've pondered is that we should be using Mr. Pratt to our advantage while he is with us.
Now this may be an idea that people would associate with "the old Carlton style" - something that Elliot would have implemented that would have landed us in strife had we been caught - or continued to label us as shifty and shady..... but .....
Is there any chance Mr. Pratt could set up a major VISY Sponsorship deal (probably in the sum of $3-4 Million) with West Coast, on the secret proviso that WC had to let Chris Judd walk to Carlton for a 2nd round pick ?
Im aware that if these events did take place (which probably isn't very likely) clubs would raise suspicion given that Judd, who is arguably the best player in the league, had been traded for a mere 2nd round selection. But it's done in the NBA drafting system - where clubs can trade picks and cash for certain players.
So ... if all goes to plan (and by all I mean my ' 3 Birds with 1 stone idea' seen here:http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7983437&postcount=1)
we'd have a very successfull October/November:
# 1 - Trent Cotchin
# 2 - Masten/Grimes/Kruezer
# 20 - Chris Judd
(via a $3-4 million dollar VISY contract)
#36 - ????
I know these ideas are farfetched and West Coast would probably value what Judd adds to the team over $3-4 Million - that theyd probably just throw into the pile of millions they already have.
So maybe the plan might work with a side who is financially not as strong - we could use this plan to lure class players from: Kangaroos, Melbourne, Bulldogs and even Richmond to an extent.
