Hi all,

As some of you may know, I’ve been a doing a fair bit of blogging on the front page. I’ve been keen to do some interviews with interesting personalities in the footy world. So far I’ve managed to get Emma Quayle and Eugene Arocca and those interviews were well received.

But obviously I don’t know all clubs in detail and that’s why I’m posting here.

Who would you like to see interviewed? Who at your mob do you feel has a story to tell that would interest and inform not just readers from your side, but neutrals too?

Obviously everyone would to hear from big names like Lance Franklin or Kurt Tippet or Joel Selwood but the reality is the clubs usually strictly control their media exposure.

What I’m interested in that something special other people might not know about – a young bloke you feel is set to have a breakout season, perhaps a recruiter with a knack for gems late, or even an administrator you feel deserved recognition.

So let’s have some suggestion but please know that although I’ll try my best, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to get any or all of these.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

If you could interview John Butcher and ask him how he felt when Carlton announced his name during the National draft - If you could capture the essence and moment when he was filled with joy, that would really top off what I believe would be the perfect interview. Also, take a picture with him in the #43 jumper too please.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe David Ellard. Doesnt get much of a mention in the media and has worked his bum off in the VFL. Seems like a nice young man. You could talk about:
- Move from WA
-Uncertainty of being delisted and being told you will be retained.
- The challenges of being a smaller player
- Season in the Antz.

Maybe another name could be Rhys Okeeffe, or Steven Browne.
With Browney you could talk about:
- Move from WA
- Frustration with being in and out of the team
- That almost hanger in his first minute on the ground.
- How it has been working with his Boyhood hero in Juddy.

Somone who would be happy to do it would be Michael Jamison. He is always ope to supporters and the media. Funny and smart too.

Setanta could be interesting. you could talk about his transition crom hurling to afl, and how hard it is to be so far away from home, that way you can get an understanding of why all these irish players are either not coming down, or going back home not long after.

then there was the setback of his brother getting delisted.

the blood clots behind his knee which has effected his running.

the cloke incident

you can also ask what the jumper means to him, because i dont think that there is anyone who is as passionate as him, and most of his goals he celebrates by holding his jumper!

Drifting away from players, I'd like to hear from:

Justin Cordy - High Performance Manager, Former Cricket Australia Conditioning Coach

Cordy has been given a lot of wraps for the work he has done with the players. They really raved about him when he first came to the club. Considering the disaster with Craig Starcevich at the Saints, his input could be the difference between success and failure yet we hear almost nothing from the man in terms of interviews.

Topics

- Comparisons between cricketers and footy players in regards to professionalism, fitness requirements/programs, camaraderie etc

- Who stands out among previous sportsmen (eg Ponting) and those at the club as being consummate professionals in their preparation and/or having an elite base of natural fitness

- Big improvers in his time at the club

- Difference between programs for different positions on the field

- Most impressive trainer of all the first year draftees he's seen come into the club

- Chris Judd: can we ever expect to see his super-express pace return and is this hampered by the big arse he has worked on building to stave off OP issues

- What is his easiest to hardest ranking in terms of improving physical attributes in a player - ie agility, leap, 20m pace, 5m pace, endurance, core strength - and are there any that he considers to be relatively fixed.

Daniel Harris - Development and Academy Manager

Interesting appointment that was pretty left field, being a Premiership coach at West Perth in the WAFL. Another I know little about and hear little from, yet he fills what is fast becoming a vital role at AFL clubs.

Topics

- Talk about the young kids... standouts etc

- Structure of the academy and how it is being developed

- His role and that of other development coaches

- Input on match committee decisions and player roles at the Bullants

- Do they simulate match situation for specific player development. I recall Alan Richardson getting Burwood players down to Collingwood to help their players practice certain scenarios

- His recruitment from WAFL premiership coach to Carlton

From a player point of view I'd like to hear from Joey Anderson and his experiences as a Darwin lad trying to make it in the AFL.

Cheers JJ. Really enjoy your blogs btw :thumbsu:

Hendo, Aaron Joseph, #12 when we pick him. Would also love to hear more from Robiinson. I know he is young but he looks like an extrovert and potentially a cult figure. Would love to see his profile develop.

Those guys have retired.
:(
Sad news if true.

From the players I'd put a vote in the Russel box. Not often a player that goes top 10, is maligned by his own supporters, and then starts to come good.

Off-field.........Cordy would be interesting.

No-one has said Fev?

We'll have to wait until he does his "tell all" ACA or TT spot, or maybe he'll release a book.:thumbsu:

Actually a "no holes barred" with Kernahan, post footy focus would be interesting. It would take in all the turmoil of Elliot, Collins, Smorgan, Pagan etc, the stability of Pratt.....the arrival of Judd and now the Fev thing.........

Sticks for mine (if you can get him to talk that is).

And no bars held. Crikey, BB, we've been in too much trouble already over that sort of outlook. A no holds barred approach might be the ticket but. :)

pride in being sponsored by the wablues
appreciation for bluegunslinger being the only mad bugger who talked him up (and still does) when nobody was listening.
