Callan Ward - Western Jets

He's played in the midfield in short stints and when he does, I have been impressed.

It's not that he's been playing there at the moment, it's the potential to be able to play in the midfield at AFL level and excell. I believe Callan has that potential, that ability and may well end up being the next midfield superstar of the AFL.

He's reasonably tall at 186 cm, he's hard at it, his disposal is brilliant by foot, for me he ticks all the boxes.

He's genuine superstar material

And that's why WCE might take picks 3 and 20 plus a player for Judd.

Their club's officials and recruiters aren't fools and wouldn't sign off that trade if they were getting ripped off. I haven't seen them play, but Morton and Ward are two players I hope we draft if we don't get Judd.

considering wards rated so high i was wondering wot u guys thought about som of the eastern boys... i was looking at som stats from tha last 8 games and ward had 178 while sloane had 193 cunningham 196 nd walker 163... obviously stats arent everything but they seem 2 match up quite well n they seem 2 b tha better playas that helped eastern overacheive this year... thoughts?

Eastern have the biggest zone in the TAC Cup by far and they finished 7th. You will need to explain to me how they overachieved.

haha i meant they overachieved coz no1 really rated them this year.. n they won a final which is good 4 them over tha last cuple years... yeah i hav som questions over ther recruiting coz they havent been 2 sucessful lately

How did this guy slip through to the second round? What an amazing talent he is. I'm absolutely stoked the Bulldogs picked him up, after missing out on Bachar Houli the year before.

I was resigned to the fact we were never going to get him once we traded #14 for Cameron Wood.

Callan Ward has been named to the emergencies numerous times already as a bottom-aged player, so obviously he's impressing the right people.

Callan is a champ, on and off the field. Can't wait for him to show what he has got at AFL level. Come on Bulldogs play him
