That really is an amazing result considering it was such a ruthless hit. Anyway it'll be good to have Harts back by round 4 to tackle the pies.

Howatt's a bit of a hack, and I'm glad the AFL found out that he was the instigator, and although they won't admit it, it definitely reduced Hartlett's suspension. Just hope this wasn't an intentional tactic to target our young players in the second half. But I suspect it was.

i think he got off lightly. A, cause he wasn't the instigator and b, it is his first offence

Very happy. I guess the AFL didn't have any better video than we did. I wonder if they factored Hartlett's concussion into the verdict. I bet the Tiger fans are steamed though.
F**k the tigers ! The fact he was concussed from the earlier incident with the richmond arseclown(thanks for that one HBF) would have most definately been taken into account .
Very lucky as he shoudl have got 4 weeks for that. Lets hope he comes back firing on all cylinders and doesn't go into his shell as a result of the suspension.

Actually I think we have an opportunity to appeal this based on Hartlett suffering a concussion. A person in a concussed state isn't really responsible for his actions after all.

I was sitting right behind it in the members stand and it appeard that he went to bump him but his shoulder caught him in the head. Didn't think he ment to do any damage.

Being in WA , I have not seen Hartlett play except on TV but I like what I have seen so far. He appears to attack the ball well when going for his marks and I really hope he can be our answer at CHF.
While his retaliatory action on Thursday may have been unwise it shows a hardness and spirit that I think the side has been lacking for some years -- we need a lot more controlled aggression and hardness. One good thing that may come of it is that other snipers may think twice before trying it out on him in the future.

Well Howat is a clown, then. Apparently the footage of the Howat incident is clearer than the Hartlett incident, so I would be interested to know on what grounds he is challenging. Perhaps he has already made plans for the next 3 weeks & needs the time off. Goodness knows he wouldn't have expected to be playing at the start of the season given he was delisted & then redrafted with Richmond's last selection in the rookie draft.

Unless there is another clip the one that they showed on t.v. is as follows.
Ball is being rebounded out of our backline you see Howat getting up jogging away and Hartlett is falling to the ground clutching his face. Nothing in it at all.
What I found most annoying of the whole situation was Hartlett was painted as this villain, nobody cared what Howat did because everyone hates Carlton, and richmond scored a goal out of the whole situation.
While Hartlett was on the ground trying to get up his opponent ( think it was Polak) went forward and either kicked the goal or dished off to a teammate as they had more numbers
