Who do you think has been the better leader? I think that they are the two outstanding captains across all codes of the last decade. I’m not sure that I can split them.

The comparison came to mind after I read the following article which I loved. It kind of makes our failure to do the army camp look even worse, in my opinion anyway.

Cam Smith. Bloke has led the best performed team of the NRL over the past decade and then some, and often under very trying circumstances. The NRL do not hand out favours to interstate teams like the AFL does. He's also led Queensland for almost as long, and led Australia for almost as long.

I think it's great that he is a legend of the game who plays for Melbourne, Queensland and Australia, so all the Sydney centric NRL commentators are torn between loving him and hating him and of course hating the Melbourne Storm as a rule. Always gives me a chuckle anyway.

Feel like statements about Smith being miles in front are immature. Hodge has been involved in 4 premierships including 3 in a row.

Clearly both outstanding leaders who drove 2 identical winning cultures. It's no surprise Clarkson and Bellamy are mates like wise Hodge and Smith.

Also in answer to your statement Tempy Tiger yeah no doubt the tail wagged the dog about the camp and no matter how you try and spin it we clearly don't want to do more than other sides, just the same.
Also if you look at the blokes in the NRL compared to the modern day AFL players it's men vs boys stuff.

I think everyone would say Smith by a mile. Maybe you should ask this question on the Hawthorn board for comedy value.

We wouldnt have the first clue as we’ve been too busy winning than moonlighting to the noneck code like you loser clubs.

I’m sure smith is a great leader from what you hear

Hodge was a bust in that ‘sporting champs’ tv show they did a few years back

And a flog to boot.

It does.

.05 vote reduction towards Hodge for offfield leadership.

Yeah, I mean, both have had successful careers on the field no doubt. But the question is being directed at footy followers not in the inner sanctum of these clubs. So we can only give our opinion on what we see. To call people's opinions immature for not picking Hodge is ludicrous! It is a loaded question anyway that could never be answered correctly unless someone has worked both at Hawthorn and Storm. So we as football followers can only give an opinion on what we see.

To me, Hodge is too much of a lad to be deemed as good a leader as Smith. I honestly cannot think of one thing Smith has done that has raised an eyebrow off the field. He is the perfect leader in my eyes. A true champion on the field, and a complete role model off field. On field, both have been incredible leaders helping their clubs to win multiple premierships. Thankful to have been around to watch both play live. But if i was to pick one, which I'm being asked to do, i choose Cameron Smith.
