Wrong Port mate - the modern day version aren't a team of thugs; with the exception of Brogan, they're pretty soft.

This is a massive deal though - the Power would've been besides themselves when the Hawks put Brown AND Pick 9 on the table; seems too good for the Power to be true.

One of the 'toughest' players going around? Rubbish.

Still, him + pick 9 seems a little over the odds. Will they be asking for a third-rounder in return?
 
If this is true, I will lose all of my faith in Hawthorn, Campbell Brown is one of our best players and our toughest player by a mile, he is one of the most passionate players I have ever watched, if this deal goes through, a bit of Hawthorn will die.
 
Apart from anything else...defence was Hawthorn's achilles heel last season and given the ongoing Croad injury looks like it'll stay that way. This trade would seem to cancel out any advantage Gibson was going to give them - he'll just take Brown's spot in the 22.
 
I am hearing we will be receiving a pick as well from Port Adelaide, not sure exactly of the pick. We will than use this pick to get Jesse Smith from the Kangaroos.

Has anyone else heard this?

What do you guys now think of this deal if it goes ahead?
 
Not understanding the uproar to be honest.

If they wanted Port to bite they were always going to need to offer their first rounder and an established player.

They obviously view Brown to be dispensable, which he is, and are keen to keep hold of Lewis and Birchall, who have more upside and are already superior players to Brown.

agree, brown is no great loss. Very over rated. His whole 'toughness' is a bit of a urban myth.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the meeting between Clarko and Brown, it would be the ultimate battle for the worlds#1 biggest flog.

Then they would both leave amicably and make a bunch of threats latter.

This trade makes NO SENSE. Browney bleeds brown and gold. He's exactly clarko's kind of player, unrelenting, plays for the jumper. He didn't have the best 09 but lets not forget he was an AA defender with some huge scalps a couple years back. I don't see why we would be prepared to give him up if the likes of Birchall and Shoenmakers were off limits. I don't see why we would give him AND pick 9 up, that's just ridiculous.

I will be furious if this trade goes through
