and deserved. It takes a hard man to clean up a 2nd gamer from behind, but it's probably harder to get straight up and dust yourself off; but Browny probably knows that..... "ooooh my eyes!! my eyes! umpire he's touching my eyes!!!"

Everyone but hawks supporters will agree with this one. Is our game getting softer? Yes. But the rules are clear. The head and lower back of a player is off-limits, especially when no effort is being made to go for the ball.

Incidentally I think Waite should at least get a reprimand for his elbow.

Haven't actually seen a replay of the incident seeing as though I was at the match, but watching it live it did look like a late and unnecessary hit.

don't know that it was all that late, but his only intention was to damage Kruezer.

I think it was only marginally late. In fact if I was a coach I would probably want my player to show similar physicality....however you still need to attempt to spoil or go the footy as well, and the intent to spoil or apply pressure was not really there, it was pretty apparent he was just charging to inflict as much damage as possible.

.

Not this one. I agree with the penalty.

In the side but it was a very poor decision. No need for it.

People calling Brown cowardess or a thug though need to get off the granola.

It only would have been the last couple of metres of C Browns run at Kruezer that he realised that he wasn't going to get there in time to spoil. The contact ended up being Fractionally late in the end there was no attempt to spoil. I dont have a problem with him being punted for 2 weeks... but you cant seriously call it a dog act.

Good luck for the season lads see you in round 22

I hadn't had a good look at the incident (as I was standing on at the 50m line at the opposite end of the ground, and the incident occured while the two were basically facing in my general direction) until last night on ABC.

There is no doubt in my mind that it was a late charge, but it didn't look as though there was any indended maliciousness. This was probably the difference between two weeks and five.

Anyway, if it is a confirmed two weeks, I don't think the Hawks will have to worry too much. Almost certainties to make the NAB Cup Grand Final.

And none of the other three key Hawthorn players missing for the start of the season performed dog acts either, its all a great conspiracy to get Hawthorn.

I was impressed with the way the Kruez just got straight back up though - pity he missed the goal. He is slowly starting to show a bit.
That goal would've had us right back in the contest. Shame he couldn't put it away. Not sure if it was nerves or whether he was still feeling it. But great of him to get up. Hopefully in a couple of years he'll give it back to anyone that tries that again.

not a dog act ey...........brown was never going for the ball and instead decides to crunch kruezer in the back who was always going to take the mark....lol so much for only the NAB cup, you must be proud of yourself brown being able to crunch that kid so easy, i bet he was disapointed he got back up.

It looked as though it was a half hearted specky attempt, just a wild mis-judgement.

You obviously haven't seen much of him, more guts than any squib playing for Carlton.
Are you really that silly that you think it is okay to call Carlton players squibs on the Carlton board?

Do you seriously think he knew it was a 2nd gamer. I just saw it again in fast motion. He was at top pace trying to make the contest, realised very late he couldnt, then braced himself probably in knowledge that he would be giving away a free kick, maybe a 50, which is all it deserved.
Had it been a short man he might have been able to get in a spoil.
