So fa this year we have been able to match it with everyone we have played. We have been "in the hunt" in every game at some stage. Do you think this will continue this weekend? Yes or no?

How will we handle coming off the bye? and will our players regain the early season form that would enable us to make the 8?

We can. We play aami very well and we knocked the crows off after they won their first 3 in a row under Bickley. We must bring in a 3rd tall forward though

strikes me as the a Geelong/WCE/Essendon kind of game: we wont be fancied but in the event we loose it will be by 10pts and we will end up looking at it as another one that 'got away'. I'd love to think the coaching group are gearing it up as a match to atone for those early season 'honourable losses' to the top 4 teams of the time.

I believe it will come down to our intensity. If we can match theirs or go above it (which is very questionable) I think we can win. They outwork their opponents with numbers around the ball.

I don't think Adelaide are as good as there ladder position says. They have a lot of young players, a few of them are due to have a bad game at the same time, It happens to every team.

We match up well. They are dominating games through the midfield, like we do.
We just can't afford to let them jump us early and lets hope it doesn't rain.

The difference being Walker and Tippett. If one doesn't fire, the other one does, If they both fire at once, it's going to be really difficult.
Unfortunately, we don't have that luxury at the moment, particularly if Muppet Miller is selected as a KPF!

To cap it all off, I've just checked the 10 day forecast and guess what? There is a 60% chance of showers on match day.

With a good rest and refreshed minds land body, I think we can match it with crows. Hopefully the weather will be decent.

I think the key for us is going to be midfield pace. If we can run them off their legs we are a big show, whereas if the win a lot of contested ball and kick out forward quickly e are in trouble IMO. Will be interesting to see whether Grimes comes back in and what happens with Griff.

Definately our toughest game coming up I think.
Adelaide are in ominous form and whilst this is one of these huge games for us where an unlikely win could set us on the path to finals I'm going to be realistic and not kick the dog if don't win.

In the likely event that we do lose I hope it's not a bad loss and we give it a real crack.

Adelaide’s results to date (in order) are:

Gold Coast W (Away) (meh)
Dogs W (AAMI) (meh)
Hawks L (Away)
GWS W (AAMI) (meh)
Port W (AAMI) (meh)
Sydney W (Away) (very good win)
Cats W (AAMI) (good win)
Blues W (Away) (decent win)
Pies L (AAMI)
Freo W (Away) (good win)
Saints W (AMMI) (decent win)

I think I’ve been generous with my assessment of the quality of the Cats, Blues and Freo wins.

They play North away this week, while we’ll be coming off the bye. So I think we're in with a shot, so long as we play like we did in the first half of the year and Jack and Foley are fully fit.

Tough game, really tough game. Outside of the Freo game, the side has continued to stand up when we all think there is a down game coming. I suspect we'll find it difficult to beat them, but gee I hope we give it a crack, and then launch into a nice run of Melbourne, GC, and North.

Can we? Yes. Will we? I don't think we will. If we bring the same intensity of the Hawks game I'd almost back us but I think our younger players may struggle in the back half of the season.

Doesn't matter though because this game is another step on the road. We'll learn a bit from these blokes.

Hopefully it's a good game after that rubbish last week.

Our back line will definitely have their hands full, especially with Kurt Tippet who is a fantastic forward. If we can shut him down, or keep him to 2 or 3 goals we're in with a red hot chance.

If, IF we take our opportunities up forward we have a great chance. If we kick 20 behinds, then no. Adelaide will bury us. Let's hope we get some bloody dry weather!

We do play AAMI well and it's the sort of game I can see us being really up for. After average performances against Freo and GWS - we need a big effort in the game to get things back on track, I reckon that's the way they'll be treating it. It's gonna be tough, but I think we'll be in it up to our ears...

If its anything like today we're in trouble

ill be there. gfs dad is taking me. even said i can listen to the song if we win. god we better win.

it'll be bloody hard. but I think we have more midfield calss and really need them to stand up. its how the pies beat them. goalkicking mids can win or loose this game for us.

id feel alot more confident if martin was in amazing form. we really need him to fire and kick 3 or 4 i think. play him head to head with dangerfield.

If Jack kicks 6+ goals, and we bring our best game then yes we can beat Adelaide.

I think the rest will re-energise the boys, and Grimes is back to lend a hand in defence. Is do-able, what a win that would be!!!

I think if we drop another game to a shit side like a North or WB etc. Then we should just put the cue in the rack and blood as many VFL players as possible to a) build up our underbelly (depth) so we can actually become a good side like Collingwood b) get our top line players in for surgery if need be to get them ready for a big year in 2013, and c) Improve our draft position in a superdraft.

This being said if we finish off the year in early season form we will make finals, if we drop some easy games, put the cue in the rack and make the list stronger or we will regret it. I still believe we will make the 8.
