Guys. seriously im not trying to be a smartarse, i think Hawthorn are ripe for the picking, they have looked vulnerable the past two weeks and im sure they have had one eye on the Essendon clash. Rawlings missing will be a blow 'coz he has been our best defender, having said that i realise you guys have about 13 players on your injury list. So can you do it? If so where do you think you can surprise the Hawks. In my mind youll need someone to hold Barker, your 29 year old full forward to kick 5 or 6 and Cousins to have a blinder on the ball. Are there any young guns who could be considered for the game. Is there any young talent i should be looking out for i.e is Kerr continuing his early season promise? Not trying to be a smartarse really, just think Hawks are set for a fall, but does this WCE outfit have the available talent to cause the upset in Melbourne?

doubt it.

I Don't mean to be negative, but i would be very suprised if we got up this week.

If we had our strongest line-up in, we played at 125%, then we probably would win.

But we have far from our strongest line-up, and the boys that are in there seem to be low in morale.

Well i think the Hawks are due for a loss ans with a fully fit side i think the Eagles would be a chance for an upset but we are just too injury riddles and out of form to beat the Hawks. Hawthorn will lose to Essendon though.

As for us i think we can beat the Doggies in a couple of weeks.

When you look at things, there are some reasons to suggest the Eagles could cause the upset of 2001:

* Hawthorn have lost some excellent players over the past few weeks, this would definately hurt them!
* If any coach knows more about the Hawthorn players, it would be Ken Judge and Peter German. They may be able to pass on some players strengths and weaknesses.
* The Eagles did beat Hawthorn at home last year - may not count for all that much.
* Hawthorn just might ease off slightly since they have been unbeatable this year and the Eagles have had 2 whippings.
* The Eagles should have a point to prove and find their passion they have somehow lost. Could they start off strong and regain their confidence?

In reality we won't win - but I'm hoping we can at least provide a good contest. Thats all you can ask for.

GE, i think your guys will provide a better contest than many think, at least youve got Gardiner and Braun back, agree with most of your points about why there might be an upset EXCEPT the part about Judge and German, i doubt they have a clue what are game plane is now, after all weve gone from ultra defensive to kicking over 100 points a game, Judge didnt think Rawlings, Tallis,Smith and Harford could play, so i dont think hes a great judge of our talent at all lol lol lol. Anyway glad youve got him as coach;)

Luckily Judgey knew our weaknesses otherwise think how bad the result would have been ;)

judge made the hawks, schwab took over a team that was on the brink of domination, schwab was VERY lucky, and youre very ungratefull for what judge did for you guys in 5 years, just think, you could be stuck wtih geelongs talent
