Anyone else watching this 'exhibition'. Some decent types lining up - Rafa, Roger, Murray, Roddick...

Watching the Federer / Murray match at the moment. Not sure what happened to Roger in the off season but i've never seen him hit a forehand slice.

He looks like a combination of Pete Sampras and Fabrice Santoro. Serve Volleying and hitting backhand/forehand slices ... interesting tactics.

Okay so I watched the first two sets but it’s getting real late so I’ve just IQ’d the 3rd. Seriously, this is an exhibition tournament and if this is an indication of what we’re going to be in for in 2009 then I won’t be able to take my eyes off the action. The battles we're going to see between the top 4 of Nadal, Federer, Djokovic and Murray will leave you speechless.

The standard of tennis has been amazing. The match was tied at 1 set all when I left but I got the feeling Murray was really unlucky not to have already taken the match. He’s playinf just that little bit better than Nadal, but make no mistake; the quality of tennis from both players has been remarkable, especially for this time of year.

Murray has bulked up a little and it’s noticeable around the shoulders. And the one thing I’ve taken from this game is that he seems to have put away his drop shot which he gets carried away with and plays far too often. A year or two ago I knew he was pretty good but always wondered what was so special about him. These days he’s like a whole new player, everything about his game has come good. His court coverage is perhaps the best on tour (hard to go past Rafa though), his groundstrokes are so accurate and powerful, his serve is improving and he’s always been one of the best tacticians on tour. I really enjoy watching him play. Considering he was knocked out in the 1st Round at the Australian Open last year, you would imagine he’s going to get some pretty impressive ranking points this time around. I expect him to go really, really deep, if not win it all. :thumbsu:

What a match! Murray in 3. He was well rooted by the end.

Two great wins to defeat Fed and Nadal.

Great Britain will be excited and expectant.

I watched Murray V Fed. Fed is gone IMO. He still has all the shots, all the talent. He is still the supreme talent but he simply won't concentrate. 2 sublime shots followed by a wayward lash...2 sublime shots followed by a wayward lash etc etc.

Still capable of winning a few slams/masters but now vulnerable at any time.. Nadal won't dominate off the clay. Djoko? we'll see. Murray seems like the next world number one and it may not be too far delayed. He is a consistent thorn in the side of Nadal and Fed by now.
