Captain for 2007

For mine its Whitnall. With vice captain roles going to Fevola, Stevens/Scotland and Thornton.

Fevola is still too risky but should given a VC role.
Stevens shouldn't be rewarded with the captaincy after a pretty disapointing year and either him or Scotland should be given a VC role.
If we give Thornton the other VC role, it leaves us with a defensive leader, midfield leader, forward leader and overall leader.

Looking forward in a few years when hopefully one of Murphy, Simpson or Walker will lead us.

well to me this is a tough call.. most will prob say whitnall or fevv... well i dnt think whittas is a gr8 role modell especially for hard work and fev i think is one more unselfish yr off being a gr8 captain... i think our choices are
Stevo,,, and most will disagree but imo a great role model to the younger guys and leads by example

and fevv: who i still think needs a yrr but then again give him a go

Im not sure mate, he comes accross as just a bit too shy. I think a leader needs to be able to show a bit of arrogance at the right times. A quality i dont really think walker posesses.

I think in the future walker will be seen as a leader at the club, but never be THE leader.

Whitnall will be captain of Carlton Football Club in 2007.

Vice Captains could be any number of, Fevola, Scotland, Stevens, Lappin, Simpson or Murphy, maybe even Koutoufides to some extent.

Marc Murphy will captain Carlton in about 4 years, to be assisted by Bryce Gibbs, Kade Simpson and Andrew Walker.

Lets face it, our leadership group at the club is probably the weakest in the competition. We lack any really strong personalities except for say a fevola who isnt quite captain material.

At the moment, Lance is the best bet to take the raines. Should captain for about 3 or 4 seasons then hand over the captaincy to Murphy.

Lets try to forget all this "shared captaincy" or "rotating captaincy" crap that is tried everywhere else. All it does is cause confusion as to who exactly is at the top of the pack.

Whitnall for sure over the next few years with Murph to take over when he's done. Would like to see Simmo get a vc/leadership group role with Fev and maybe Stevens and Scotland.

Same here!!!

Out of that list thought, having to choose, I'd go with Whitnall. Longest serving player at the club behind Koutoufides, has such a presence on the field, and knows what he is talking about.
