Captaincy and Ablett

One G.Lyon summed up the captaincy skills of Ablett very well on the footy show. Campbell Brown should have been afforded that honour. When we were tossing up our succession plan to Harley, I am so glad we went down the Ling route. From what i have seen in GC Ablett does what he does, and is selfish in his behaviour. His priorities are events, and not the club. He showed this at Geelong when we prefered to go to the Logies than see his club play a game of football.

Given what he is being paid to establish this new club, he is doing minimal media and not paying back his sugar daddy.

From afar it is clear that Swallow will succeed him as captain in a hurry. And the GC must be wondering why they didn't go harder on Reiwolt, as he would have given them a presence in the media.

Thats a fair assessment, but i think we should move on from Ablett and quit worrying about what he is doing or about to do, and write about players that are playing and want to play for this great club.
If bartel is going to re-sign with the club like suggested, then Bartels character far outweighs anything remotely associated with Ablett at this point in time.
To be honest im sick to death of hearing about Ablett.

Just to just add. some of the deficiencies in Gary personal demeanor and presentation that I had previously overlooked and/or put up with are now more obvious and are another group of supporters "sack of potatoes" to carry.

I agree. Since it's been 6 or so months since Ablett left us, I feel this no longer concerns us.
