Hi, i have a question!

Whilst i was revercing i slightly hit someones car and scratched a little bit of the paint but no dents. I have insurence but they dont, what does this mean how are they able to make a claim against me? they have my car license number and phone number but not my license...

Was there a police report made?

If not then the accident is his word against yours. If he tries to file a claim with your insurance company, tell them that that dude rear-ended you, that both of you had a conversation about it and decided to blow it off as the damage was minor. You're free and gold.

If there was a police report, he takes that police report number and files a claim - not against you - but against your insurance company. They pay him to fix his car and charge you higher premiums for the next three years.

If it was me and the damage was as minor as you describe, I would have cut a deal with the other dude right on the spot and paid him cash to have his paint buffed out. It would be worth it as the higher insurance premiums will cost you 20 times or more over time.

Of course that's how it would work in Missouri, USA and perhaps not Melbourne at all. So I'm just blowing out my ass.

Good luck to you however it turns out.

Peace,

WRONG

If you hit another mans car, you man up and sort it out unless you are a giant pussy.

Only a scumbag would try to **** someone over after he damages their car.

....
Peace,

Great advice. He could claim the other dudes door crashed into his rear bumper causing the damage, something like that right.

You know peaceful people aren't usually fraudulent liars.

About three years ago in the space of about a week I hit five different cars at different places while parking. I couldn't work out what was going on as I have been driving for twenty years and had never had an accident. I went to the doctors and was admitted straight away to hospital and was diagnosed with diabetes. My high blood sugar levels had been impairing my judgement.

My insurance company loved me that week.:o

But yeah, I agree. Man up and face your responsibilities.

?????

Hi. I'm Mooster7

It's a spiritual peace, Harry. I have perfect spiritual peace even when I'm being violent, fraudently lying or ****ing someone over after I damage their car. ;)

Peace,

I hope you lie to your insurance company and think you are awesome getting away with it ... and then get sued by the other driver for appropriate reparations.

Enjoy.

Insurance companies are evil. They take in your money for absolutely no service at all. When you do need them, they try their damndest to skate out as much as possible. Then they raise your premiums and get all that money back. It's your duty to stick a fork in them as much as possible if you are unfortunate enough to have to file a claim. You may be too young or otherwise inexperienced in life to know this so that's OK.

Also, the advice I gave about about cutting a deal with the other guy and paying him out of pocket was legitimate. The rest of it was tongue in cheek. That must have blown over your head as well. That too is OK.

Enjoy

I trade making a police report once from a car accident, they weren't interested because no one was injured.

I had a minor ding in a carpark (stupid woman not looking where she was going hit my 1 week old car!) - I called the 131 444 non-emergency police line to see if there was anything I had to do. They said I needed to go to a station and file a report. Later, when speaking to my insurer, they asked for that report number.

GIANT PUSSY indeed.

My car was all but destroyed when someone got out of their work van/truck and went into a TAB, forgetting to put the brakes on.It rolled down a hill and into the side of my car, which was legally parked in the street. The guy came out of the TAB abused the witnesses and drove off. Leaving my totaled car on the side of the road.

GIANT PUSSY.
