I've not had insurance for a considerable amount of time. However I was involved in an accident 18 months ago but obviously couldn't/didn't claim. The person who I hit claimed and I payed through his insurance company. Would my driver rating be damaged or would it go unlisted when I sign up for insurance next.

From what I know you can either pay for the damages and not go thru insurance, get him to get a few quotes and then give him the money when finished, or if he goes thru his insurance you deal directly with them. Think he has to get a refernce number from them and then they’ll either ring you or you ring them and get ball rolling.. as to whterh it will effect your rating, probably as youll be "in the system" as being involved in an accident and if you lie when taking policy and they find out they can deny future claims.

So get insurance dumb ass, it’s a few hundred bucks a year for 3rd party…
