has anyone checked out the carlscum board of recent times?

while we bask in our premiership glory they are devoting threads to the likes of:

- andrew collins, recently acquired from rich, reminds some of them of james hird;
- ed barlow, recently delisted from syd, could be their next KP defender;
- a discussion on how collingwood's flag is tainted by tanking in 2005 so we could get both thomas and pendles. (ah how the times have changed from when the blues scum fans used to taunt us for 'wasting' 2 top 10 picks on thomas and pendles). the thread titled 'black and white' makes for some truly hilarious reading

it makes our great victory so much sweeter to see how much it obviously hurts the oldest of enemies. as another pie fan quoted on there, they have won 3 times as many wooden spoons as flags under the afl banner since 1990 - hilarious

I had to argue to an old Carlton supporter work mate that Pendles and Daisy were going to be phenomenal players this year and last year, I backed both to have breakout seasons and defended them all year. Nobody in February was calling us tankers because we wasted our picks, but they paid off greatly, now we are tankers?

1 Spoon+ 1 PP is not tanking, we had a pathetic season playing rookies and youngsters, which is how Mich coaches, and this year it pays off. We obviously tanked this year doing the same thing, but. . .

Admittedly Carlton has been endlessly entertaining, but you never know - they may just be the next powerhouse of the AFL.

All they need is a decent spine to wrap around Judd, a few defenders, a tall person to score goals, some team spirit, a top coach, a visionary board led by an energetic president, and an infusion of integrity. How far off premiership glory can they be?

the result is some bizarre chimera of a footy fan. though the evidence of carlton's general ineptness is plain for all to see, they've managed to utilize extreme forms of doublethink to self-deceive themselves into genuinely believing they are good and then completely forget the act of self-deception. from a psychological pov, it's almost impressive.

I am not sure why anyone other than a Carlton supporter would be checking out their thread? I mean seriously, I can understand checking the threads of sides who are relevant, who are in our league. But Carlton? They are up there with Port Adelaide or North Melbourne in terms of relevance to the Big Boys.

Quite simply, they don't rate to anyone other than themselves. Thats how sad they are nowdays.

Lets stick to sides who matter at the pointy end of the season.
