    The only ones I wasn't sure on (as the length of contract wasn't reported) were Aisake and Jackson.

    The Age reported a couple of weeks back that Aisake was out of contract, so must have been elevated with a one year deal only......Jackson may well have had the same deal.....otherwise we may need to pay out Jacko which wouldn't break the bank as we would do it this year.:thumbsu:

    All others listed were out of contract AFAIK.


    Murph hasn't been announced beyind the "agreed to terms" that was reported by one of our posters at a Carlton club function before the GF.

    The word was that we were waiting until after trade week to possibly adjust his payments (front or back load) to help us secure a big name such as ROK.

    Given we appear to have gone cold I would expect Murph, and hopefully Wiggins, Banno, Hoops, Cloke........and anyone else still out of contract is announced......unless more delistings are to follow.:confused:

    Surprised by Pfeiffer.

    There's been a suggestion in the other thread that Carlton have indicated to Pfeiffer that they will rookie him. Is that possible BB?

    Personally i was disappointed by his delisting - despite the opinion of others. But perhaps it was a way of clearing a spot for Johnson, and then re drafting Pfeiffer for 2009 and having him has a nominated rookie.

    I thought if you had been on a senior list and played senior footy you were ineligiable, but maybe there is a minimum number of games you need to play before you loose this.

    Was certainly a surprise. I thought he looked O.K. at times.

    With the other rookies I guess if nothing better is available we can always re-rookie some of them.:thumbsu:

    My understanding is that having been on a senior AFL list only effects the eligibility of mature aged rookie ie. over 23yo (amount of games played has no bearing on rookie list eligibility) so Pfeiff would still qualify for rookie list.
     
    Didn't Marty Pask go from Brisbane senior list to Bulldogs rookie list, or something like that?

    Personally don't see a problem with making a tough decision like getting rid of Pfieffer

    Trade Rules:
    Priority pick CAN be traded.
    Player cannot be traded in the first year of a new contract unless he agrees to it.
    If an uncontracted player cannot secure a new contract or a trade then he may nominate for the ND or the PSD.

    Any Player selected by a Club at the National Draft Selection Meeting or otherwise included on the Primary List of a Club, shall be ineligible to be included on the Primary List of any other Club for a period of 23 months from the date upon which he is selected or included on the Primary List.

    Clubs will be able to trade one or more ND selections for the selections of another club, without a player being involved in such trades.

    Scholarship players are mandatory last selection's in their Draft year at the club that they are aligned with.


    Rookie Rules:
    Each club may select a maximum of 6 players (9 for Sydney and Brisbane)
    R1 - First year rookie. May be retained without being re-drafted for a second year or may be promoted.
    R2 - Second year rookie. Must be de-listed or elevated at the end of the season.
    RI - International rookie. May spend up to 3 years on the rookie list before being delisted or elevated.
    RN - Nominated rookie. May play senior football without being elevated for a player on the long term injury list (LTI).


    An AFL Club is eligible to nominate a Rookie Player as being eligible for senior selection if it has 38 Players on its Primary List not including Veterans at the conclusion of the Pre-Season Draft and it otherwise satisfies the requirements of this clause 14.

    14.6 An AFL Club which is eligible to nominate a Rookie Player pursuant to clause 14.5 may:
    (a) where the AFL Club has nominated one Player on its Veterans List,
    nominate one Player from its Rookie List as being available for selection by that AFL Club for AFL Premiership Season Matches and AFL Finals Series Matches; and
    (b) where the AFL Club has not nominated a Player on its Veterans List, nominate up to two Players from its Rookie List as being available for selection by the AFL Club for AFL Premiership Season Matches and AFL Finals Series Matches.

    14.7 The right of an AFL Club to nominate a Rookie Player under clause 14.6 is subject to the AFL Club demonstrating to the satisfaction of the Investigations Manager that it can accommodate within its Total Player Payments the Football Payments which must be paid to the Rookie Player as prescribed by paragraph 4 of Schedule B.

    14.8 One half of the Football Payments in respect of a Rookie Player nominated under this clause 14 shall be excluded from the relevant AFL Club’s Total Player Payments.

    We need to sign Kade Simpson,Steven Browne and Paul Bower soon and most importantly Matthew Kreuzer and good old Bret Thornton.There is also Andrew Carrazzo if the money he ask doesn't break the bank.
