Tim Watson slams Jed Lamb's false "bravodo tactics " **** you Tim Watson who cares what you think! Other clubs dish that shit out on a weekly basis and he choses to point out Lamby ..

**** you Tim Watson ..
Is it similar to the false brave used to describe his son during and after the drug scandal?

Little bit of Crippa love in these dark times.

I notice they're still banging on about the 100+ points thing, mentioning that we haven't done it for 42 games and Lions have done it twice this year. Where's it getting them though? Same amount of wins and a better percentage.
In those 42 games that we haven't cracked 100, we have had 8 wins. In the same time Lions have cracked 100 eight times and have also had 8 wins. Three of those times they cracked 100, they also lost.
Not much talk of the reigning premiers failing to crack 100 points on 17 occasions last year. Only matters if you're Carlton.

The media back at it again today.

Gerard Whateley sticking the boots in today on SEN, but hardly surprising given he tried his best to get the Curnow bothers suspended last week. It's funny when the callers have a more balanced view of the situation than a supposed professional journalist. He also seems like the kind of commentator that is offended having to call lesser teams and bad games. It's not about you buddy.

Also whispy Watson has a go at Jed Lamb and his false bravado. So it's safe to come out after the Bombers had a good win on the weekend, and not after Lamb toweled up your side last weekend. Just picking an easy target there, how about he mention some of those faux good guys who have made their career out of being dirty snipers. I seriously hope Bolton or someone from the club comes out and backs him up during the week.

Then someone calls in to KB's show to suggest you should get an extra points 2 points if you kick over 100 points, which I think is a pretty good idea. Then KB just has to mention Melbourne this week, then how Carlton have only won 1 game this year and however many in the last 2 years and how they haven't past 100 in that time and wouldn't get the 2 extra points. **** off KB!!

It's the changing way of media. It's about generating talking points and outrage. Clickbait and radio callbacks. All of the good journos are slowly falling in line to the new way of thinking.

Is that 2 points on the scoreboard, or 2 premiership points? Actually, doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of that idea. How about the best team on the day wins? If that's by playing a heavily defensive game, or kicking the lights out, so be it.

PATRICK Cripps will sign an off-season contract extension past 2019, adamant the club is heading in the right direction despite its current plight.

But West Australian Cripps could not be happier at Carlton, has set down roots in Melbourne and has bought property locally.
His girlfriend is back in West Australia finishing a university degree but will join him in Melbourne again at year’s end.

2 premiership points. I think it has some merit, but it would be kind of like the cricket. You would just go out to get the win, but if your 30 points up at 3/4 time or whatever, then taking a few risks to kick a few more goals instead of shutting the game down may provide a bit more action. But that's what percentage is there for I guess, most coaches don't even care about that too much though really.

Just heard walls on fox footy say Carlton may lose a generation of supporters.

I think that is a bit of hysteria. 37 years didn't hurt Richmond and * have 70,000+ members even though they were drug cheats.

Some may drop off, but this is why liddle was bought in to grow new ones.

My 9 year old is frustrated too, and wants to see wins, but he will stick fat. Poor kid, I'd seen 3 flags at his age....

Judd’s idea of a percentage without points against is far better.
So, a points for tally? :p

Pretty sure Walls and the Lane clan have been rotating that one through about this time of year for about 3 or 4 years now.

There's an Age article from Sam Lane quoting my comments on TC about it. :drunk:

Absolutely. Whately has to produce clicks because he's replaced KB who could actually create an agenda. Whately is well aware of it. No reward for him in being sagely and sensible. Has to join the tabloid circus. Should have stayed with ABC where you could be retained your integrity Gerard.

Poor form.

Should be doing all they can to rally the troops.

Walls went on to say that Carlton aren't great, just like Lloyd said about *

We need all our media personalities leading the charge, not taking pot shots.

You can see it as a call to arms, rather than a pot shot. But ideas would be welcome, and he has a bit of free time these days.

Sam McClure (if you would call him a personality, but Carlton supporter none the less) just teed off on Steve Quarterbrain and his comments on Whateley's show this morning. Basically played a clip of Quarterbrain from April 30 saying he wasn't worried about Carlton and their list build and then saying the complete opposite 20 days later today. Short memories these people.

Whately can GAGF.

I only listen to well balanced and unbiased media...like Andy Maher and Sam Pang.

37 years of premiership drought - but a lot of ninth place finishes would have given them some hope, to hang on to. ;)

We need a good back end to the season - to hold onto some of the new members in the 51,000+ members we've managed to sign up this year.

Like to see Charlie kick a bag or two, and McKay to have a break out game.

And I would love to see:

Tom Williamson
Jacob Weitering
Caleb Marchbank
David Cuningham

get some continual and good football in the Senior side.

You just watch H McKay average 2 goals a game and not even get nominated for the RS.

We don't need him to break out, we just need him to keep quietly chugging along, getting match fit and beating blokes he shouldn't be able to beat yet, and we'll be fine.

On Lamb, it's just petty. I would nearly bet my house that if he didn't play the antagonist against melbourne they would have accused him of being a conditional player, only lippy when the going is good.

Instead he was still doing his job, still being the antagonist when a win was off the cards.

Hats off to him, poor form from Watson.
