I've met him. Introduced himself as Patrick...no assumption that I'd know who he is. What a gent.
aside from the razor-edge, youthful good looks, ball handling, crazy courage, tenacity, huge engine & unbelievable leadership skills we could be twinsHe is PERFECT FFS.
Well said. Can't say I was a fan of how much they sniped Gold Coast as a city. The Team and its culture, sure. But the place... was a bit low. I've lived here since I was 8 and love it. Is it a great place to build a sporting franchise? Hell no - way too fair weather a fan-base. But it's a great place to live and heaps to do, laid-back lifestyle and amazing weather year-round.
They had me until that, but was a bit disappointed.
He is the kind of bloke who will snap you in half & then give you a Macleans' smile (the oldies will know what I mean, the rest can google it).Deceptive. Get up close at ground and look at the stoppages and seems like a bully. In a good football way....

Was a terrific interview this morning. Nicely summarised SVBolts on SEN.
Impressed how players have stayed united
Club hasn't deviated and tough times has re enforced that
Most games into 18-21 year olds this year
Docherty has stepped up this year
Praised Weitering for the weekend
Asked about pressure on Cripps to be Captain. Cripps craves it
Asked what is fascination with McKay? Big CHF that has had poor run with injury until last month or so
Dow has great attitude. Goal was what we will see in future
Is a Luke Hodge type someone we would look at? Void in 21-27 year old. Open minded in that space.
SOS looking everywhere. Need to be 'right' type
His recruitment focus is on needs. Rebound defender, mids?? as examples
Asked about Tom Lynch. Fits into any side. Super player

Jed’s a great bloke. I honestly hope we keep him on, he might not be best 22 in some people’s eyes but he gives his all week in week out.Lovely piece from Tony De Bolfo about Jed.

Yep, seems to have really bought into the club as well. Like Daisy, these senior blokes are great for morale and almost worth a spot alone. He can play a role and contribute and is one of our senior heads now. So with us not wanting mass turnover again going forward, he stays for another year at least.Jed’s a great bloke. The media fixation on all clubs building to find a Hodge type to teach young kids has got out of hand. It is not like the Hodge type on field coaches are growing off trees. He is a one off. We got our own Docherty back next year as general on field down back so no point even looking. Someone like McVeigh is no Hodge.
Simpson?
What did he say. I missed it.Walls speaking on AFL tonight made a lot of sense. Not something i say a lot.
