Not the worst idea, Geelong has been great at this over the years. Taylor, Kelly, Menegola, Stewart and Blicavs have been handy gets.

Sounds very much like what the AFL allowed the Dopers to do when their players were suspended. A nice little reward for cheating (along with their subsequent #1 draft pick).
Bottom line is 4 years of shit results = PP.
Arguably all poor clubs' situations were brought on by their own decisions.
Choices they made on appointing certain people for key roles including coach, decisions on culture, list management decisions etc...

I'd say the only valid argument that is not on the club is the go-home factor for clubs such as Brisbane etc. Seems to be an increasingly bigger issue these days especially with the advent of free agency

Its a strategy that works best when you have good team. Tim Kelly would not have the season he has if he played with us or GCS this year.
The only benefit I guess is that if the bottom sides have those players they don't go to one of the top sides.
Its a handy additional benefit but it shouldn't be that or top end PP's

As soon as I heard Twomey mention Fisher playing at HB, it was then I knew not to take any of them seriously. They know bugger all, and are there just to get paid.
Also said Casboult would have no value. Bull****! Whether or not he's getting a game, a player with a role such as his will always maintain some value. Probably a third or fourth round pick though. And a team such as Gold Coast could do with him for a year or two. I'd happily take whatever trade we can. Need to pluck gems from the third and fourth rounds more often anyway.
