Ando’s Shout: How close the Blues to came to signing up Alastair Clarkson for coaching job

There may be some truth to Clarko being a bit put off by our board, but Clarko has publicly stated numerous times that he wants or was seriously considering taking time off to spend time with his family and friends.

And it's not like he only rejected us, he rejected pretty much half of the AFL clubs seeing as he absolutely would have had clubs coming at him with offers.

Really feel the media criticism of us recently has been over the top.

Caro just wants to be relevant.
She had a couple of hits recently with hawthorn and wants more attention.

Caro writing her last stories continuously; on and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on.

Not sure I believe, but whoa....

Also, IF true (big if), who leaked that?

1: Teague, Stanton, Amos & Barker all sacked. The head of Football, Lloyd retains his job. How??
2: Lloyd is a great communicator according to LS, but could not seem to communicate with the coaches.
3: LS said HE would start tomorrow looking for the best and experienced coach, then when asked if there was a committee being set up he changed his tune and said the Board had not made a decision. Who is looking for the coach? Is it Sayers or will there be a selection committee? Then Liddell said they would not leave any stone unturned, but did not elaborate whether there would be a selection committee, interview process or just tap Lyon on the shoulder.
4:Cain Liddell was asked whether Lyon fitted the criteria to coach Carlton, and then pretended he did not understand the question. He then said the club would be doing their due diligence. In light of the fact that Ross Lyon was involved in a case that resulted in a confidential settlement paid to a Fremantle employee for alleged inappropriate behaviour, is RL an appropriate candidate for the CFC job?

This is why Sayers & Liddell both made total fools of themselves. Totally unprepared. If the media had wanted to be brutal to them they could have finished them off, but they let Liddell blunder his way thru the RL issue.

When Ross Lyon is appointed, the first question he is going to be asked is.....In light of the confidential settlement made to the Fremantle staff member is it appropriate you should be appointed as coach of CFC in light of the clubs' RESPECT policy? Lyon being Lyon has a short fuse and it will be on. He cannot hide behind confidentiality forever.

So we have started on the back foot. Probably appoint a coach who will be under the microscope from the moment he is appointed, and if true, 40% of the players (including the best players) who wanted Teague to stay on. Is this the new era under Sayers???

Wowee. Or you can choose to not allow the media to control how you think or act...

How?? That is the first question he will get and he will be dogged with it. How does he answer it? It is like trying to answer have you stopped beating your partner yet? The second question will do you have any regrets undermining Teague whilst he was still coach by saying you were interested in the job?
Not discussing it as it was a confidential matter.

How do the AFLW players feel about it?? Why have a RESPECT policy??? It goes on and on.

Either way, they had better put a lot more thought into this, because if Lidell & Sayers think glib answers cut it, they are in for a long battle. Already you have a media player-manager waiting in the wings to smack the club at every opportunity he gets.

We know Clarkson and Buckley are out of contention. Pike probably the same as he has turned down Collingwood plus the baggage of what happened at the Crows, so who does that leave? Lyon or Lyon. You can forget about Voss as they have previously interviewed him and he is over it.
They may go for Roos for 3 years and see if he can find someone to take over.

To those in here promoting Caro as some sort of dear Aunty dishing out truth and tough footy love: what a load of garbage. Who tf trots out garbage, publicly, such as “Silvagni’s cast a curse on CFC”.. She’s a Richmond supporter, enough said.

Guilty as charged eh? Smoke and fire theory? No room for any other scenario? FMD.

Naah she is just a journo. She dished plenty of shite towards the tigers not too many years ago

Naah she is just a journo. She dished plenty of sh*te towards the tigers not too many years ago

BS. She selectively narrows in and out of phrases to suit her agenda. I can just imagine her moral climb if a bloke Journo made the same comment
When those with whom she verbally spars construe her statements literally she implies they need to relax and recognize her underlying jovial intent. Yet when it suites her she does the complete opposite; e.g during one of his interviews a few days ago, Sayers jovially suggested that the footy landscape is surprisingly fickle, to that, yesterday, she went on a rant as if it was a literal summation of his inability to comprehend the footy landscape. Spare me, she does it often.

Depends how long you can argue the point without getting personal or pulling the moderator card.

Some really good points.
Although I think for your own mental health if you want to stick with our club
It would be good to focus on positives. If you find none, try and get some decent people on the takeover ticket.
Just potting away all the time is a weird hobby. Draining for you and us. Do you have a punching bag at home? Also good value.

I usually watch FC, completely agree with you. She randomly picks fights over nothing events, a massive hypocrite IMO. But she does seem to have good connections within clubs. I think Damian Barrett is a bit the same, tries to come across as wanting a perfect world - where everyone is held fairly to account. Except for him and people he chooses to like, they get a bit more of a pass than others.

how often do you jump at shadows?

Anyone who thinks the media or particular journalists are ‘out to get us’ is either a conspiracy theorist, lacking comprehension skills or not right in the head.
Carlton are good for clicks, if they can stir up controversy and splinter a support base that is good for business. If you don't realise that you are incredibly naive. We also don't have any loud Carlton voices in the media to help change a narrative.

It’s likewise naive to think that a journo is by default objective and free of personal bias. Seriously, who tf would say, publicly, that Silvagin is a curse on the club. I think that’s a vindictive comment and warrants being called out.
