The game has changed in a lot of ways but some things haven't changed and the way Johnno and Kenny used to set the tone and make an impact should be a focus for these players.
Our players need to create more moments in a game that set the tone and creates more intensity and higher standards.
How many of these players would have watched those finals in the 80's and seen the impact of those two great players ?

Dayum, it's always great to see Dom back at Princes Park.
We've had better, but nearly none with a bigger aura. Hope he and the players and staff enjoyed the day.

second best carlton player I've ever seen based on the pure joy of witnessing a sport played at the highest level by the bravest individual against pea-hearted thugs who couldn't hold a candle to his endless, freakish talent...........
and a gentleman to boot
I know I am alone on this, but Hunter was the best Blue I have seen, could play anywhere, unquestionable courage and as blueboy25 stated, a gentleman

Saw Hunter towards the end of his career and was awesome. I can only imagine watching him live in the early 80's.
Hard to remain inconspicuous on the Nullabor...quality stalking.

Think i've said it before here, but watching Hunter and Bosustow debut together in Rd1 at Waverley in '81 was peak excitement for a Blues supporter. I went to all 3 of those Grand Finals as a young fella and that Rd1 game was the most exciting i reckon. Thrashed the Premiers Richmond. The fans streaming out the gates at Waverley were all so wide eyed. Still remember it. Both were ready made stars and exciting players.

Oh he saw me, took a hanger over me and said thanks for the ride young chap.
I meet Hunter at a Carlton function over here a few years ago and told him he was the reason I follow Carlton and blamed him for my miser of watching the blues for the last ten years. Also told The Buzz at the same function we used to steal new cricket ball from his sports shop. Don’t condone stealing was young and stupid, I will send some money to his go fund me page.
Also sat next to Diesel at another function (with Sticks at the table)and had a long chat about Dow, but that is another story.
Other than the grand finals, R1 1980 at Victoria Park was the game I’ll never forget.
The Dominator tearing the Woods to shred’s created an incredible atmosphere in the outer.
It was very tense, like a powder keg ready to explode, so exciting and impossible to replicate these days.
Hoping Charlie, H and Motlop can raise the temperature to somewhere near those levels in the years to come …

Yep. Remember listening to that game on the transistor radio at the local footy as a young tacker. The excitement was palpable through the radio.
We were supposedly a broken club after the Harris/Jezza implosion over summer. We got pumped in all 3 praccy matches. Pies were apparently gonna smash us in the replay of the Granny at their home cesspit.
But then Dom and Fitzy and Doormat and others went nuts from about halfway through the game from memory and blew them away.
Amazing game. We were reigning premiers, then dead and buried in everyones eyes, then arrogant and bossing the comp again all in the space of 4 quarters.
Can't help getting nostalgic when seeing the ol Dom back about the joint lol.
