You'd have to be seriously unlucky to know that many people with side effects. I know 0 that have had issues beyond the first 36-48 hours where a handful felt unwell.

One is a sisters mate.(personally don't know)

One is a co worker and then obviously myself.

But yes everyone else is A OK. I got my 2nd dose a week ago and went to the hospital monday night as i woke up with numbness in my hands and feet. Heart is fine and no blood clots. He said it could be anxiety ( can't be as i was actually excited to get it done/able to travel etc and really had zero knowledge on side effects as I'm pro Vax and believe in science) i was fine after the first jab so i wasn't worried.

Secondly because i had the shivers and sweats the first 40 hours after the Vax(also blurred vision, sore bones etc..all that went away)
He said maybe my magnesium levels are down, so I'm now on the strongest magnesium you can get.

I will shout from the rooftops to get tge vaccine. In saying that i have to be honest in the sides too.

What do you mean "maybe"..? Did you see Dr. Nick in Springfield or what?

If you were hospitalised surely they'd give you a blood test and work out if you were actually low in magnesium or not.

Would walk into your teams best 22 easily (and spread the virus).
Wouldn't have thought so - bloke got shafted from the Doggies when they were about to win a flag.
Has been languishing at the blues ever since who have supposedly been a finals threat.

Can't see him getting a gig in a team that is about to have the son of Christ, the Whispering One, Nick Daicos, lead them to premiership glory.

Bloke just doesn't like winning, nor actually playing anymore by the sound of it :D

Moore is a poor man's Jones silly boy. He even copied him by failing as a forward and moving down back.

And yet Austism rates around the world increasing expediently in line with increased vaccine use over the last 50 years.

They're also increasing 'exponentially' with the use of smart phones which, in my opinion, is far more likely to cause autism due to the ******ed shit people believe on social media than a vaccine where the doctor who originally claimed it caused autism admitted to lying and was de-registered.

It's actually quite funny to me, that you guys act like we're divisive...when you're the one throwing insults our way and acting generally divisive yourself.

Tell me, where's your outrage over children entering federally mandated childcare, having to be vaxxed? Pretty sure those two line up.

Spare me your little slippery slope argument of 'oh you endorse vaccine mandates, therefore you would've supported genocide via the nazis.' It's such a bad argument, as both totalitarian countries and democratic countries, endorse being vaccinated - and have for decades, if not centuries.

Not to mention there's actually real curtailing of freedoms' via censorship of criticism of public figures - see friendlyjordies being arrested by an anti-terror unit in NSW - for nothing more than journalism that critiqued a Liberal leader and got them offside.

Or how about the fact that new metadata laws are currently being brought in that secretly that allow your info to be exchanged with the US and vice versa, in order to get around metadata privacy laws - as part of the ASIO 'anti terror protection' scheme.

Where's your outrage over these things? How about outrage over coal mines stealing water from local drought affected towns in NSW - which is endorsed by state and federal government ministers?

You only seem to be outraged over that which those who actually have an agenda, want you to be outraged over. Notice how none of this sh*t is broadcast far and wide, but anti-Vic anti-vax BS is peppered across right wing media by those who have a political agenda against the state government?

You people always act like you've 'done your research' but your research is done in a vacuum of self-confirming 'evidence' that is neither balanced nor is it objective. Yet you act like we're the sheep, when in fact, you guys are the one eating sh*t up daily that is propagated by nut jobs who have their own agenda. FFS Trump tried to tell people to get vaccinated at a rally, and they booed him. That's how far off the deep end you people are, you're worse than Trump.

Another thought too: it's funny to me how the most uneducated, have suddenly become world class epidemiologists and health experts, because they read a few alt right articles or watched some you tube videos that supports their view.

Do you walk into a doctor and think you know more? Do you walk into a lawyer's office and think you know more? Do you walk onto an aeroplane and think 'hmmmm I reckon I can pilot this thing as I watched piloting for dummies on YouTube last night'? No. We endorse people to make decisions on our behalf, because they know more than us.

I can guarantee that there might be one or two people on this ENTIRE site, who actually knew what an mRna vaccine actually consists of and how it works - pre covid. Now all of a sudden, we don't require these people anymore, as Alan Jones, Peta Credlin and Tucker Carlson informed us of some pseudoscience not backed by peer researched information, and we're all experts now.

It's fine to be skeptical in life, but it's also fine to accept that there are those who have dedicated their entire lives to a particular field, that know vastly more than you do - and those are who we should trust.

You people think you're so damn intelligent, but us who make up the vast majority of society, accept that we are not as intelligent as those we have tasked with making medical decisions for us. If you're so damn concerned with the state of society, then protest everything and fend for yourself. Us civilized members of society will continue sitting back letting the pilots fly the planes, the surgeons do the operations, the lawyers represent us in court and letting the engineers design our infrastructure.

*************************************

TL; DR - The next time you want open heart surgery, do it yourself - as clearly you cant trust the experts anymore now that Jim on YouTube told you otherwise :)

P.S. I don't watch free to air TV, and only share academic peer researched articles when quoting things outside of my knowledge base.

Let's repost this on every page to save us the bother of replying to every dO yOuR rESeaRcH type. Fantastic post.

This is a simple topic, a Carlton player allegedly refusing to get vaccinated and what it means for his career.
Please stop going down every distant rabbit hole :$

Long term I’d say there is some evidence that vaccines aren’t completely safe.

Nonetheless, vaccines do have a place in this world when you consider the lives they save.

I don’t see the need for a flu vaccine to be made mandatory when you consider 70-80% of the population will voluntarily take it.

Anyway, I’m hoping it’s Cerra just for the laughs and melts.

Maybe autism rates are going higher with global warming
The rate of global warming has doubled in the past 40 years.

Autism!

It's a rumour thread, no real news about it, why does it have to be absolute on topic about literally Jones and not vaccines and content from that?

Autism being a spectrum has meant a lot of people who might have been described as quirky, or slightly different, or distant now have a diagnosis.

The condition of male testosterone levels dropping is quite real though.

I'm not expecting the AFL to allow their players to mingle with the general public next year when covid-19 is endemic, so I don't think a player on Carlton's list not being vaccinated adds any risk to either the playing group or the league. You don't catch covid-19 from not being vaccinated.

I will be totally honest. I am still pro Vax and i hope as many people get it..but i got pretty sick after my 2nd dose which went away after a few days. As i type what hasn't gone away is tingling issues with my nerves in my left leg which wasn't happening previously.

I would say still get it as Covid will be passed around alot more when the borders open (especially in WA) but yeah i know someone who had temporary memory loss, another who now has pain in their neck and armpits and for me it's a jolting feeling in my left leg which happens with movement and even when I'm trying to sleep.

Sides don't happen to everyone, but clearly to some..even to those like me who are pro Vax and thought the protesters were idiots.

Ive had terrible neck pain ever since my 2nd shot

Most of the thread is hardly on topic, but plenty of completely irrelevant posts have been removed too. We have covid threads, religion threads, conspiracy threads…at least try to keep this one AFL related as it’s the main AFL board.

If you were???? Why would i be talking bs ffs?

I agree with you. He did have an accent so i thought he said maybe. It confused me cause why not check my magnesium levels while I'm there?

Did you have the Pfizer vaccine?

My nephew had all those symptoms (except the numbness in his leg) after his 2nd jab and doctor said similar things to him.

Choosing to be vaccinated is exactly that, a choice. Choosing not to be is also a choice. And clearly the player in question understood the consequences of his choice not to be vaxed, not playing football. Anti-vaxers are faced with 2 choices, accept the publicly stated consequences (if any), while choosingnot to be vaccinated, or choose to avoid those consequences by getting vaxed.

At this rate, in NSW and the ACT at least its looking like 95+% of the community are choosing to avoid negative consequences and enjoy the freedoms associated with vaccination. Its looking like the AFL playing community % vaxed is even higher. But of course there will be individuals who make the other choice. So long as he was informed of the consequences its OK by me.

Whoever this joker is Im pleased hes not being given any special treatment, just like Novak. Informed choice = Consequences. Fair enough.

Thats OK, youre welcome to have expectations and thoughts. But it doesnt matter. There are clearly stated consequences for choosing not to be vaccinated and this player has willingly/knowingly chosen to accept those consequences.

If I chose not to be vaxed I would have done so knowing there were consequences, in that case I (and by inference the player and his supporters) would have nothing to complain about when I wasnt allowed into a restaurant or onto a plane (or to training/playing the game).

This is a free, but regulated, nation. You can choose not to be vaccinated (or not to wear a seatbelt), there are explicitly stated consequences for that decision which you are inherently accepting through that choice.

A mate told me Adam Saad. Take that with a grain of salt although he does have a Carlton connection.

Reading through this thread it seems some think being imnuocomprised is a reason to not get vaccinated. It's the total opposite - you should be first in line. The only medical reason to not get vaccinated is if you have an anaphaltic type allergy to an ingredient in the vaccine. In these cases, you can safely get one of the other vaccines that doesn't have this ingredient. If you are anxious, see a gp for a referral to a specialist who can help reduce the anxiety - anxiety in itself can increase your chance of stroke if you are pre-disposed.

Although everyone should get vaccinated, a simple solution for those that don't is to be required to take a rapid antigen test before attending any venue that requires proof of vaccine. They pay for it themselves. It could get expensive if they need to do it daily for work etc. but it is their choice and protects the community at the same time.

Remember that we need between 80% and 90% need to get the vaxx for it to be effective.

This means that we can conceivably have a situation where hundreds of thousands choose not to be vaccinated, yet we get to the figure we need to get to. So these 'debates' about whether some Carlton player gets it or not are completely irrelevant to the overall objective.

The way we're doing this is so divisive, and divisiveness is the last thing we need more of. Further, it gives zero regard to the notion of individual freedom, which until recently most of us regarded as fundamental.

Besides all this, these mandates are just not that clever. If you're trying to get those that might be prone to conspiracy thinking to NOT have the vaccine, the best way to do it is surely to turn objectors into martyrs. Portugal and Spain managed to get very, very high vaccine rates without threatening citizens freedom of movement, employment, etc. From what I understand, in those countries (and no doubt many others) it was about fundamentally about treating individuals with respect, addressing fears and educating.

At what point does addressing fears and providing education fall over when the person(s) it's aimed at don't actually want to accommodate such information?

A lot of people that now are against getting vaccinated are doing it despite all the education and information available.
