Gruffles the report did not seem to mention treatment options available. Surely vaccination cannot be the only remedy?
Vaccination isn't a remedy... It's a preventative.

Currently, vaccination is the best option we have. But these numbers are purely about diagnosis and hospital admission... What would the relevance be for them to talk about treatment regime?

Essentially, the data is just showing the number of kids getting sick. I'm not 100% sure what the current accepted best treatment regime is... Maybe kingswood71 knows?

Oh man... Did you just refer to yourself in the 3rd person? [emoji23]

Thanks for posting! I have to say, I have loved how much new info and resources I've been introduced to in these threads.

Also... I freaking love crazy chemical names!

I have to remind myself to not use generic or chemical names often when speaking to people...."so mr jones, i think for now it would be worth staying on the empagliflozin...I mean the extra sugar tablet"....

lol at this thread. Just had a peak and poor old BlueE is at it again. He bobs up in various covid threads with misinformation you could spot from outer space, cops an absolute pasting and eventually skulks away. Only to emerge somewhere else.

Hope he’s not getting paid by the post.

Literally every disease has some form of treatment option though. As with everything, prevention is significantly better than treatment, as preventing an infection eliminates the chance of death which still exists if the treatment fails, any long term effects after recovery, and the spreading of the virus while infectious.

The current covid jabs don't prevent infection though. That is the biggest problem. Next are the side effects from being jabbed.

They reduce risk of infection. As vaccines do.

Didn't say anything about other jabs. This is also the only so called 'pandemic' in our lifetimes so other jabs for other diseases aren't really comparable.

That's an extremely odd response.

You used an adjective to describe the covid vaccines with the word "current" but you're not comparing them to anything? Why use the adjective in the first place then? Why not just say 'Covid vaccines don't prevent infection though'? Why say 'current covid jabs don't prevent infection'?

Either way do you know how "current" vaccines work compated to previous vaccines? What do you expect them to do?

Also if you're scared of their side effects are you worried now they you've taken it?

I said current because in the future there may (hopefully) be more effective ones available with less potential side effects.

Personally I am not afraid of any side effects but they do exist and can be quite extreme.

They do.

"two doses (14 days or more previously) of Pfizer-BioNTech reduced the risk of testing positive by 73% in the Delta period, compared with 80% in the Alpha period"

You get infected, then your body knows (~ 80% of the time) how to fight it off from the jab
Yeah… I get it. But it also fights it off quicker and with a fraction of the chance of there being any dangerous symptoms.

It’s a bit … meh… to repeat “It doesn’t even stop you getting infected!”

There’s two steps here - infection with SARS Cov 2 and developing the disease Covid-19.

Yeah… I get it. But it also fights it off quicker and with a fraction of the chance of there being any dangerous symptoms. - Supposedly ~ 80% of the time that is what happens.

There’s two steps here - infection with SARS Cov 2 and developing the disease Covid-19. - Yeah but without getting infected no need to have any vaccine

Supposedly
Yeah don’t start that bullshit.

If you have some ground breaking science that turns the idea of vaccination on its head, let’s see it.

I know a bit about data science methodologies but I have no idea of the source of the data so can't do my own analysis. Can only go off what I read, like most other people and then you are trusting the information written to be correct (but obviously can't confirm it without seeing the data source, hence the supposedly - also there could be input error).

The current information provided everywhere says the covid vaccines are only 80% effective at stopping hospitalisation I believe, ergo they aren't very good
