Win lose or draw on friday, it's just nice to know we'll go further than Essendon with the groups we have.

Seriously though, If we do win, how embarrasing will it be knowing we have these guys out:
Warnock - Future tap rucking star with the skills to take it around the park.
Walker - If it wasn't for injuries he'd probably be as good as Judd.
Waite - All Australian easily, if he played for Essendon he'd be their best player.

Maybe out:
Thornton - Not going to play key position any more, allowed to own the air.
Austin - future all-australian defender.
Robinson - future star of the game.
Yarran - You'll see, when he makes it you'll learn to hate him quick Bombers fans!
All the players bolded are good.

The rest are a joke and I would love to see them all out there friday night, we would seriously win by 20 goals if they were.

Another moron.

You haven;t beaten anyone by more than 7 goals.........

I can see another 83 point belting coming on....

We're waiting....

Obviously don't watch Bower much hey?

Last week in the 1st quarter the Saints midfield was absolutely rampant. Bower would have conceeded just as many goals as Matthew Scarlett under those conditions. The last 3 quarters however, Bower blanketed Reiwoldt on nearly every contest.

Hooker and Pears. Lol.
As somebody pointed out, Hooker faired better than Bower, in a team that lost by more than 9 points mind you.

Pears this year has beaten (not done respectfully on) Pavlich, Bradshaw, Roughead, Mooney and Walker. They're just the 'big' scalps.
He was arguably beaten by Kosi, and gave away two silly free kicks against Miller.

Overall he's out-performed all young defenders you have on your list.

You forgot Fletcher. Remember, it was always those 4 which were the ones that 'carried' us:rolleyes:

Leadership is a major problem at Carlton. After Judd there is nobody. Stevens isn't a captain's arseh*le. Fevola still acts like he is 19. Carrazzo shouldn't be in ANY clubs best 22 but understandbale that Carlton can accomodate him:o

Who else? Walker? Another spud.

We have McVeigh, Welsh, Watson, not to mention our highly touted draftees which ooze leadership like Hurley, Myers and Zaharakis. Things are very bright at Windy Hill:)

Why did I bite we will win and rather than bet with you i'll be betting with an agency, that will double my money! There is no possible we will get beaten by a team with Skipworth, Dyson, Hocking, Dempsey, Slattery, Pears, Hooker in it and your midfielders Winderlich, Watson, Welsh, Lovett Vs Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Simpson, Stevens.

There is a massive class difference and it will show, as will the stupidity in playing two has beens in Lucas and Lloyd.

Essendon would be a rabble without Lloyd , Lucas and Flethcher all 3 who will retire in the next few years.

The rest of your team are just 'confidence' players.

When the big 3 retire (McVeigh and Hille will be useless by then but still going) those so called "star" kids will have to play on the best. Essendons future involves constant holes opening while being filled with lesser plugs as they will come along. Plenty of changes for no real results.

Man I love making Essendon supporters look like idiots, listening to the stupid replies that keep coming from all my hard truths, love it!

:) No. You would not.

Please mark down the names Walker, Austin and Yarran on the top level
Robinson and Warnock just under.
Look back on your post in 12 months time.

I'll supply the cat'o nine tails for you to flog yourself with, but then again it seems you may not need it.
You may already be flogging yourself too hard.

Hard truths hey?

  • Essendon is in the top 8, without significant contributions from McVeigh or Hille, and injury/poor form greatly affecting Lucas and Fletcher, who are 4 of the 5 players apparantely "carrying our club."
  • We have fielded the youngest team this season, 3rd youngest in recorded history.
  • Our "poor depth" has beaten you last 4 times, even though we've had more numerous and more significant injuries than you guys and always been under-dogs.
  • Despite years of tanking and making crooked deals, your list is still weak overall and continually disappoints.
  • The young list which has actually been carrying us is without contribution from our first round draft picks for the first three years. Even without the crown jewels we are keeping up with the rest of the comp.
  • Despite our senior players clearly not carrying us, your side relies much more heavily on Fevola, Stevens, Scotland etc and the only young players who make consistent valueable contributions to your success are Murphy and maybe Gibbs.
  • Finally, Tayte Pears owns any defender in your side, and even then he is probably behind both Fletcher and Hurley.
I generally try to be a nice person, but it brings me so much joy to know that despite all your crooked methods, our list still holds more potential.

Edit: I accidentally missed your earlier quote when you said we'd "peaked too early." Hard to see how the youngest team in the comp has "peaked"... Nice one.

Looks like a fair enough argument to me :thumbsu:

Nighthawk, I had Carlton down for a certain win in earlier in the year. I failed.
I again can't see Essendon beating Carlton, only this time I'll hold back any commentary.

You may have not forgiven us for the '99 Prelim. but I am still haunted by the '93 Grand.

We MUST win.

We MUST win.

I think what sucks most about this game is that both sides MUST win, and yet, someone has to lose. Friday will potentially decide the finals chances of both teams. As much as I hate Carlton, I love hating them. I'm happy to see us both in finals, just so long as we win ;)

We are going to belt this mob. I wish zaharakis was playing cos he is the most over-rated player in the AFL at the moment, and i would dearly love to see him get put into the ground.

O.K. Essendon is not my favourite team either, but I cannot deny that you guys have rolled with the punches and have set out to play to your strengths.
To date you've done a great job for mine, and certainly worthy of watching from a neutral supporters viewpoint.

I see Carltons list as being better but for now you are ahead on the ladder

Friday night will have one of us in a pretty bloody good mood after the game.
From an Essendon viewpoint, I think I can say a loss could still tell you, you have a lot to look forward to for the rest of the year.
This will not sit in the same manner at Carlton.

That is why, WE MUST WIN. ;)

Oh Cookie, wouldn't you rather we just played well and won the game?

A first year kid who gets omitted on form from a young rebuilding side is the most over-rated player in the AFL? Don't think so pal.

That's a nice argument if you consider Taylor Walker a big scalp...

Pears hasn't played as well as Bower and Jamison.

Roughead kicked 2 goals three on Pears in a belting which flattered the Bomber.

Franklin kicked five on Hooker who was held to two goals by Bower this year.

Jamison beat Koschizke with arm.

Pears was thrown around by Miller on Friday night and smashed by Tippett.

How many will Fevola kick on him?
Who else? Walker? Another spud.
Walker is nearly as talented as your hacks Zaharakis, Jetta, Myers, Reimers and Brent Stanton who was picked after Bradley. :o

You certainly have a penchant for recruiting receivers out of WA and Victoria.

No mids though...

Your Adrian Dodoro specials and downhill skiers simply lack awareness, skill, the pure midfield talent of Murphy/Gibbs and don't support each other.
We have McVeigh, Welsh, Watson, not to mention our highly touted draftees which ooze leadership like Hurley, Myers and Zaharakis. Things are very bright at Windy Hill:)
McVeigh oozed leadership when he clocked Rivers.

A Bombers claimed that Neagle was lining up for a Souvlaki before the VFL game.

Lance Neagle is a son of a gun and has bad genes.

Your only young ruckman is Ryder.

Your back ups to support Ryder without Hille are Bellchambers, Laycock and an albino Ethiopian.

All hacks.

By time you're ready to challenge for a flag, Hille, Lloyd, Fletcher and Lucas will have sold their websites to Essendon and retired with a nice lump sum outside of the cap.

Myers' intensity makes Jetta look like Daniel Kerr..

Myers would be a player if he played with the intensity of a Robinson, Browne, Walker, Joseph, Kreuzer and Grigg. :)

Ryder, Prismall, Welsh, Stanton and Watson v Kreuzer, Judd, Gibbs, Grigg and Murphy looks good for Carlton with our next tier Stevens, Scotland, Browne and Simpson.

Win the midfield battle and your outside players will have a cold night if it rains to make the game a slog...

Not on the same scale as Pav, Roughead etc obviously. However considering he was coming off a 5-goal (in a half, mind you) game and had given a few teams quite the headache, I'd say that's a nice scalp to have.

Roughead kicked 2 goals three on Pears in a belting which flattered the Bomber.
Whichever way you put it, Pears beat him. Watch the game again if you have doubts.

Franklin kicked five on Hooker who was held to two goals by Bower this year.
So that's 1 apiece for Hooker and Bower.

Jamison beat Koschizke with arm.
Jamison is emerging, no doubt. However he hasn't the scalps Pears has.

Pears was thrown around by Miller on Friday night and smashed by Tippett.
Get your facts right, please. Pears had his worst game this year against the Dees, and still wasn't 'smashed'. He gifted Miller with two goals; before that, he outplayed Robertson, and performed OK after that.

As for Tippet, I suggest you watch the game before commenting. Tippet's direct opponent was Hooker up until the fourth quarter. From memory he kicked one goal on Pears, during the period in which Adelaide were running over the top of us.

How many will Fevola kick on him?
Difficult to say. Will be a great lesson for Pears, however there's nobody I'd rather see play on your star Full Forward.

So what ever forward/forwards the opposition are kicking it to are doing well while the ones they aren't targeting are quiet...

Last time we had a change of coach, before Knights we won 10 in a row against Carlton from 1981 through to 1985.

The next time we had a change of coach (27 years later), that man has won his first three games against Carlton.

There will be at least another 7 wins in a row before you guys can celebrate.

a) I can't take you seriously unless you write a thesis

b) You said that Pagan would win us a flag
