Gday guyz.
i only caught the back end of the interview but from what i heard in that short space of time this is what i gathered:
- Its is good there is no center half forward as lots of boys will have a crack at the position and he said we'll have alot of guys rotating there.
- Mentioned a few times about spending time in the forward pocket and kicking goals and said he hoped he could kick a few.
- Thinks we have a great new midfield and hopes he can fit in it.
- Hopes he never has to play BP again.

Did anyone else catch the whole thing?

He did such a good job there though. Although, he did a good job in the midfield as well. It's a very good sign that he'll be fighting for spots in the midfield now.

He is very potent as a lead up small forward. Very interesting comment, might see him play there next year. Problem is he just can't kick it through the big sticks to save his life.

i remember a game against the hawks at the dome in 2006 he played this role and took about 10 marks and kicked about 1.7. it was the night croad cut lance up in the first quarter and walker played the rest of the game on him and did pretty well. lance ended playing pretty well in the forward line after the first quarter. pretty sure big carlos made is debut that same night playing at full forward.he had a shocker. actually it might have been his second game as he debuted against richmond i think.

His kicking for goal looks like a confidence thing to me. If he can nail a few early on in the season I cant see any reason why he cant be good for a goal or two every game as he certainly has no problem finding the ball.

Interesting to see that he says he could be playing in the forward line a bit this year.
What type of position does everyone think that he will play there? I think that he should be used as a crumbing forward if he is going to play down there, because we already have a few marking players, and i think that Jordan Russell and Simon Wiggins are better suited to playing as a small leading forward.

We do have a shortage of small forwards.

I have said some time that Carrots could make a good FP if he is now well covered in the midfield, however, I would have thought that his primary role in the forward line would be to exert defensive pressure and keep the ball inside our F50.

Definitely. He's not a FP type, because his footskills aren't that flash and he does not have electric quickness.

However, as a defensive/tagger forward, and a lead-up option, he can be VERY effective (yes, I recall that game against Hawthorn... he was Captain Everywhere). If, say, he went to a creative half-back flaker, exerted some pressure and forced them to be accountable by providing a hit-up target, I think he could be very effective.

I thought he made his debut against Sydney at the SCG, one of our best in a 12 goal flogging

Are you also thinking of his Round 9 game where he effectively tagged Edwards out of the game and still got plenty of the ball himself? :)

His debut was against Richmond in round 7 of 2005 where he got 1 mark, 1 kick, 1 goal (and 1 free against) in a very embarassing defeat.

His next game wasn't until round 4 of 2006 against Hawthorn -very little game time, 3 disposals.

He then played every game from round 13 of that year until the round 22 game against the Swans you refer to in which he was one of the few shining lights on a pretty dark day for Carlton.
