Currently watching us (Willie) getting rolled by Coburg. A fitzgerald would have been pretty ****ing handy in the guts 😔

Kentfield deserves his chance. JVR and Jefferson have hardly been convincing. Kentfield can actually clunk a mark.
Matthews and Fitzy soon too. Fitzy looks a beauty.
For mine Kentfield would be a better JVR replacement as he’s much closer to JVR in style vs. Jefferson.

JVR, Mihocek and Kentfield in the same team seems a lot of very similar mark first reliant types.

I could see Jeffo going out (as is a real chance due to form/inconsistency) and Fritsch playing deeper again to mix up the types in the forward line.

Does anyone check before posting this .....

From Casey ;
FOLLOWING Casey’s Round 10 clash against GWS, VFL coach Rhett McLennan provided his reflections on the contributions of AFL-listed players.

Joel Fitzgerald

(40 disposals, 1 goal, 6 tackles, 12 clearances)

"What a debut. Joel was really impressive. To fit into a new midfield group so quickly and build chemistry in such a short period of time was outstanding. The amount of impact he had around the contest and throughout the game was huge. He's a great teammate, a real professional and it's an exciting time for him."

Max Heath
(33 hit-outs, 1 goal, 17 disposals)

"Max has continued his sensational VFL form whenever he's come back. He's been a giant for us from a performance point of view, not only with his ruck work but also what he does around the ground."

Luker Kentfield
(3 goals, 15 disposals, 7 marks)

"It's been really exciting for Luker. He's put together two fantastic games in a row. While he's hit the scoreboard, he's also done some really good things defensively and around the ground. His attack on the contest, both offensively and defensively, has been excellent. He's building a really strong body of work."

Thomas Matthews
(1 goal, 12 disposals, 8 tackles)

"Tommy had some good moments. We're continuing to work on his running patterns as a speed forward and he's learning really well, with support from Kade Chandler in that space. He always gives himself an opportunity to hit the scoreboard, which he did again on the weekend."

Xavier Taylor
(16 disposals, 14 intercept possessions, 5 tackles)

"Xavier had some really good moments. His defensive positioning continues to improve every week and he's building a really strong foundation to become a quality defender."

Lukas Cooke
(16 disposals, 6 marks)

"Lukas had a fantastic debut. In the absence of Tom McDonald, he was asked to take on a key organisational role in defence and handled it exceptionally well. He knows how to play the role, understands the game and showed strong leadership despite only being at the club for a short period of time."

Ricky Mentha
(13 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles)

"Ricky had some really good moments playing on a dangerous VFL player. There were times where he anticipated the play well and put himself in the right positions. While there are still areas to improve offensively, he showed he can contribute in a tough, hard-fought win."

Jake Melksham
(1 goal, 11 disposals, 4 marks)

"Jake had a tough day, with his direct opponent doing a really good job. Despite that, he made the most of his opportunities, never stopped competing and maintained a really positive attitude. His leadership and support for the other players around him was important."

Riley Onley
(12 disposals, 6 marks)

"Riley had some good defensive moments again. He's continuing to learn his craft as a defender, and we're really pleased with the education he's getting at the level. It's helping him become a more well-rounded footballer."

Max Mapley
(1 goal, 7 disposals, 9 hit-outs)

"Max was really good as a second ruckman and kicked an important goal. We can see his athleticism and the potential he has to develop into a strong AFL-ready player in the future."

Kalani White
(1 goal, 5 disposals)

"Kalani once again showed some really promising moments throughout the game. We're continuing to work on his consistency, but those flashes highlight just how much ability he has."
