I think Knevitt's a concern. Don't care if he racked up 20 touches (only 7 disposals today) but he's too slow on the inside. Decision making is really lacking.
Not sure what the answer is. If he isn't winning much footy, his defensive side of the game is not that good either
Think you'll find his foots no good as seemed to struggled to run

Neale does some good things but is too easily beaten in Contests. However we have no replacement for him.
Got to say again, Cameron’s man left him to impact the contest with Neale a number of times.

I thought he looked absolutely knackered at 3 quarter time this evening C09; personally I was somewhat surprised Scott and co didn't throw Blicavs into the ruck in the last quarter.

But what do I know? Stanley rallied and Blicavs did well in his role.

It's a good question though; how much does he have in the tank?

I'll back the club in to manage him appropriately; De Konning the Tom next week will be a decent challenge for any of our nominated rucks though.

Rhys is generally a decent endurance athlete compared to our other talls but I know his knee is pretty bone on bone at this point and doesn't have a whole heap left in it. I'm sure the plan would likely be to try and regularly rest him and nurse him through to finals.

I like these Generalissimo - I don't always agree with every word but I love the reasoning and it adds to the conversation.
The Revolution of the Head of the Geelong BF post-game threads.

EDIT: despite what I said a second ago, I actually do agree with basically every word this week!
Generalissimo's summary was spot on for me.
Agree OHenry has to make way for anyone really. He also needs a running coach. His gait is all haywire, looks like he is running on the spot sometimes.

This… unless we shuffle SDK or get jack Henry to pinch hit up forward like Sicily we are stuck with Neale who is at that ‘teasing’ stage for developing keys.
Could go either way, but still showing some good glimpses.
Needs to use that big body more effectively and start busting packs when he is out of sorts. Our setup probably makes that difficult.

He's trying to hit the ball carrying arm and knock the ball out (which is what they do now because of the rules around not dump tackling people) but he gets the angle wrong and hits him in the head. It's very reckless under the new rule and will be 4 weeks minimum. But it's not a king hit or a 'dog act'.

Except he misses the ball by a foot, completely misses the arms, chest and shoulders, and hits Miers across the lower face with an almost perfectly horizontal and stereotypical clothesline action.

I said it would be a belter of a game, and I was right. The Hawks had their chances to win it, but they couldn't handle the pressure. Both sides made mistakes due to pressure. But what an atmosphere that game had. I've seen GFs with less atmosphere than that. Blicavs, Mannagh, and Atkins were awesome. Danger & Stengle in the forward line were nearly unstoppable. Everyone had their moments and delivered when it counted. Best game of the season so far and best of all—Dorkthorn can go get F****d

Watched Knevitt closely... He plays in Cruise Control.
He lacks a Second Gear. Noticeable when tempo lifts.
Not sure if physical or mental, but a worry playing finals.

No we don't (and you could make a similar argument with henry) unless you put kreuger back on the list. But if kreuger was on the list now I'd probably pick him ahead of neale much as I think neale will be a really good player in time.

A settled ruck position has been a constant issue under Chris Scott, and 2025 seems no different.
Somehow over the past decade Rhys Stanley has found himself ultimo hombre, and has a medal for his efforts.
I can get behind him in 2025, but surely he'll need some respite here and there (as you say PO).

who would we have replaced Henry with anyway? Our forward stocks are a bit thin

Tbh he didn’t play any worse than JC last week imo

Your first question is the reason I asked my question.

JC was poor last week, but I thought OHenry's game was terrible today, in a notable run of average performances of late.

I think 4-2 is about par on where we should be at this point. The St Kilda lost was a bad one, but getting the win in Adelaide during Gather Round was unexpected. We then have split our other two tricky ones against top 4 chasing teams.

Our next 5 games will tell a lot more about where we are at.
Melb are top 4 chasing?

I think someone needs to tell Melbourne that.
