Is this the week to rest Stanley against a red hot De Koning?
Kolodjashnij will come in.

Kolo
SDK
COS
Blicavs

Mullin

Humphries
Guthrie

One tall too many down back.
Need some run so either Stanley takes a rest or a tall does.

Lawson Humphries is a ridiculously good decision maker which you truly appreciate when watching him live at the ground. Not lightning quick, not particularly tall, but his agility and ability to read the play puts him in most contests. Glad he's enjoying his time with the Cats because he looks like a ten year player at the moment.
:100:
He's a genuine football talent. Not only his skills, but he reads the game so well. Gives himself time and space - Pendlebury-like in that respect. Hasn't missed a beat since he was elevated. I see him in the midfield down the track.

Really impressive win in a quality pressure game
Maestro Danger
Moments Cameron
Miers was on fire until cruel Nashing
Dempsey, Humphries, very good contributors
Smith and Holmes ran all day
Bowes and Mannagh did very important things
Atkins solid again
Stanley fought it out
Blicavs solid
Zuthrie strong

Henry needs to get more into contests. Soft game
Great win

Reckon Kolo will need a run in the VFL.

For me -

Outs - Miers (inj)

Ins - Clark

Agree Knevitt to be sub
His run was meant to be yesterday. When I was critical of his withdrawal from all levels I was reliably told on here 6 day break to Carlton.

If he plays VFL next weekend we stuffed up pulling him this weekend.

Stewart's in that defensive mix too don't forget.

Although I do agree with bulletproof's logic about moving TStew to midfield, as imo we're currently one quality mid short of being premiership contenders.

What saves Henry is that we just do not have options to replace him or Neale. When Kolo and Jack Henry are back we will have flexibility to swing Jack Henry,Cos or SDK forward
Yes we do. Danger playing so much forward alongside Jezza and Neale gives us enough aerial power up there. Ollie is adding absolutely nothing to that right now. I’d prefer to see Wiltshire given a chance than have Henry continue to waste a spot up there.

I assumed he just didn’t get up for the VFL game he was named in. That sounds more plausible. He’s missed a lot of footy. Although I can see the appeal of bringing him straight in to free Stewart up to play some midfield minutes, I think it’s better taking a more conservative approach. If he performs in the VFL then bring him in against the Pies.

I was in the MCC as Smith came off. There was booing, and then the Cats fans rose to their feet.

I didn't see any "bird" at all. I saw a guy urging Geelong fans to stand up. A bit over the top, but where is this "bird" claim coming from?

Translation: Near full strength Hawks on their home ground (away) throws its best punches to undermanned cats defence and still fall short to a superior club and team. Not even sniping a player out of the game made the difference.

Why did Kolo not play yesterday if he is indeed ready?

Both teams were full of errors today, funny hearing hawks fans claim they lost that game and gifted it to us, we were poor ourselves and can play much better. Always happy to claim the 4pts in scrappy games like that.

Thought it was interesting hearing Scott post game with Gerard and Lyon saying he was able to watch most games this long weekend and it was a little depressing seeing the standard some teams are playing at compared to us (I’m thinking Collingwood, PA & WB in particular from this round). Not saying we are bad but I think Scott knows where we’re at and how we’ll have to pick it up quickly over the next month with some big games coming up.

Couple of 6 day breaks with Carlton next week, which 2-3 weeks ago would’ve been a walk in the park but they’ve gained some form and always seem to get up for us, followed by a huge test against the Pies the following week, that’ll show just where we’re at.

Thinks after those 2 we face the giants, power and WB. 1 week at a time I know but big 5 weeks coming up for the Cats, will shape our season.

We noticed Sicily played on Ollie H for over a quarter, deep F 50. Is he the decoy to allow Danger the space he needs?

Stewie looked off today. On a 6 dayer I would want to make sure the knee is cherry ripe otherwise manage him.

Blicavs also looked a little off last week - can be an impact of gastro in that recovery can be longer then simply not needing to continue running to the toilet

Watching how they used him today, I'm pretty sure we've got more than a few options to replace Ollie

For a few centre bounces in the second quarter, Henry was moved out from the forward line to play up on the wing with Cameron & Dangerfield, sometimes Neale and the smaller forwards the preferred option for the 6-6-6 setup

Then in the last quarter it was noticeable that a few teammates looked for options other then Henry in our forward 50, with first Stengle waiting for Dangerfield to get open in the pocket and then Close waiting for Mannagh to get open, all the while Henry was leading pretty much straight in front

At the moment, it looks like Dangerfield has taken the 3rd tall/focal point up forward role from Henry and he's currently playing that better. So not sure we necessarily need to replace Henry with another forward, but adding to the midfield could be an option
