After seeing how successful Ozzult's topic is on the Eagles board, I've decided to start our very own Cats trivia thread on our board to have some fun with.

Here are the rules:-

1.) One person will ask ONE question, when that question is answered correctly, that person (who answered correctly) may ask the next question, then when that persons question is answered correctly, the person who answered it will ask another question, and so on. (If you answer the question, and are 150% sure that your answer is correct, then you can ask the next question straight away, if you're not sure your answer is correct, wait for the person who asked the question to provide the correct answer.)

2.) If someone answers a question correctly, and the original person who posted the question says so, then that person has the right to ask a new question. 60 minutes after the original person verifies the correct answer, and another question hasn't been asked by the person who answered correctly, anybody can come in and ask a new question, to make sure the topic keeps moving.

3.) You are allowed to use books, Internet, Google, phone-a-friend, 50-50, or even Eddie McGuire to help you in answering the question if you wish, but please state this in your post when you're answering the question.

4.) Questions must be related to Geelong somehow.

Ok, I will get the ball rolling with the first question...

Who was Geelong's last Premiership winning Coach?? (seniors)

Bobby Davis.

When was the last time Geelong fans saw the greatest tradition in modern day football?
Hint: see Main Board.

Is the greatest tradition seeing fans run out to celebrate someone kicking 100 goals in a season??

If so, Gary Ablett against Sydney in 1995.

Well it will be a well used tradition.....hopefully

It was Joffa and his Gold Jacket, but I'll pay that. I like the boy.

Good stuff. :)

Remember the 60 minute rule, anyone can ask another Geelong-based question after that time.

Next question, to keep the ball rolling...

Billy Brownless kicked the winning goal after the siren to defeat Footscray in the 1994 Qualifying Final. Question is, before David Mensch passed the ball to Brownless, who kicked the ball to Mensch?

In which season was the result of the St.Kilda-Geelong game reversed due to the Saints playing a suspended player?

1984??

The name Paul Morwood comes to mind for some reason, although I am not 100% sure he was suspended, possibly uncontracted or something like that.

Incorrect.

We won both games against the Saints in that season anyway.

Hint: It was a fairly early VFL season.

Catattack, this was a very good question... I had to refer back to one of my books, Every Game Ever Played to find the answer.

Round 6, 1909:
Geelong 6.12.48 lost to St Kilda 6.13.49 but had the points awarded to them because St Kilda played a suspended player.

Ok, time for the next question....

Who was the last Geelong player to coach Geelong??

Hint: This was on Mars-termind on The Footy Show a few weeks back.

Tom Haffey.

Jen deserves credit for this one, she just gave me the answer... who needs a footy encycolpaedia? :D:p

That is incorrect.

Tom Hafey never played for Geelong as far as I know.

OK, I'll tell her. Bugger... :(

Maybe I should let her on to give her a chance to redeem herself, so she won't be sleeping on the couch. :p

The master coach himself, John Devine! :p

Reg Hickey coached the most games at Geelong, but how many games in total did he coach at the mighty Cats?
