Ablett - obviously still not at 100% fitness but did well considering that - he seemed slow and may need a couple more weeks before he returns to his best.

Chapman - didnt rate him today, kicked 2 goals but didnt seem all that consructive. Could have done better and shouldnt that given that stupid free kick away when he hip and shouldered Begley.

Corey - after today you would have to ask 'Did Joel Corey play today?' Got 5 touches and hasnt had a 20+ possesiion game this year.

Gardiner - getting there kicked a couple and will improve. Not a great game but I suppose he kicked a couple of goals and thats all you ask.

Graham - quiet.

Harley - played on Carey late in the game, though he did a reasonable job.

Haynes - kept presenting and taking marks. Seems to lead to the pockets alot tho. Played well just kicked 1.3

Hunt - was everywhere. Seemed to lack pace today to but besides that played an excellent game.

D Johnson - seemed to get more than 6 possessions but didnt so would be looking at a VFL guernsey next week with Bartel playing well in the 2s.

Kelly - good game, only 16 possessions but did well.

Kingsley - quiet.

Ling - Best on Ground.

Mackie - all class

Milburn - control defense and worked hard.

Round 1 St Kilda: 12 kicks, 8 hadnpasses, 20 disposals.

Round 2 Carlton: 11 kicks, 8 hand passes, 19 disposals. (One extra disposal to round up to 20 isn't the difference between a good and bad game)

Round 4 Richmond: 9 kicks, 11 handpasses, 20 disposals

Round 5 Fremantle: 11 kicks, 6 handpasses, 17 disposals. (Again, 2 extra kicks/handpasses is not the difference between a good and a bad game)

May not be a purely consistent damaging ball winner week in week out, but at least get your research correct.

I'd disagree on those 2.
Chappy was good.He kicked a couple and set up a couple with his body work.

Corey started on the bench and probably played more in defence. He was in the back pocket on Riccuitto in the last qtr

Of which he did a good job. Ricciuto was never really his damaging self in the midfield or up forward when Corey and Scarlett played on him.

I believe my research is right and u confirmed it. lol

Yeh he is well down on last year and hasnt got over 20 possessions a game. We are down on last year and maybe his 5 or so less possesions a game compared to last year show us why. Not claiming that he is the only person a bit down on form.

It seems that you are suggesting that one extra possession to give Corey a 21 possession game is the difference between him having a good game and a bad game.

I'd love to comment, but the stupidity and childish behaviour of some people on here really prohibits me from doing so. I'm automatically seen as a Corey hater, when quite simply, i'm just raising an issue many seem blind to.

Similarly, since when has regularly notching up 20 possessions made you a decent player?

You can defend Joel Corey all you want, but the facts still stand, he hasn't delivered to the level we need.

No one has said anything about you on this particular thread Seb

I agreed on a previous thread that Joel hasn't lived up to his potential, but previous points made that possessions are everything between a good and bad game is absurd in my opinion.

Agreed on Corey. Last week said i'd keep him ahead of chapman, and I probably still stand by that apart from the fact Chapman can kick goals. cant bag chappy today as he kicked 2 goals a game he be one of the more dangerous crumbers. Corey's not extremely quick and foot skills leave a lot to be desired. I'd rather have Moloney, Hunt, Tenace, Wocjinski in the side. they may not get as much ball as him when coreys going well, but its what they do with it that counts.

At the end of the year if it comes down to being able to get a good key forward and having to give away a decent player, He's expendable.

I was also impressed with David Haynes. Presented well and when he couldnt take a mark, hit packs hard and made a contest of it. Looked the most dangerous of Graham and Kinglsey (his spot has got to be up for grabs now) and he had clean hands would of ended up with 10-11 marks imo.

My thoughts exactly.

Thought Kingsley was ok given the conditions. It wasn't a day for talls. Thought he was robbed of two shots at goal by poor umpiring. That mark was definitely legit while he should have had an earlier holding the ball in his favour (his opponent could easily have attempted to kick the ball but chose to hang on to it).

Chapman both inspires and infuriates, does some marvellous stuff and then does something totally stupid by trying to show who is toughest.

Didn't notice Corey until the last quarter and the match was over.

DJ, although didn't see much of the ball had a good defensive game.

However the best thing about the day was simply that when Adelaide did get a little run on, Geelong didn't go to pieces, something that has been happening far too much in Geelong's matches of recent times.
