Maybe all clubs might struggle for numbers, as not sure people will travel if they are only a fringe player or their kid only get limited to on the ground or court, with fuel prices going up and up , and such a far stretch out league now ,
Moulamein are offering to jump on their bus from Swan hill and free feed after training

I had heard the league had dropped the required number of players from 14 down to 10 to ensure kids are getting a game.

From a junior country footy point of few it’s a shame something like afl x didn’t works

Murrabit announced a few more,
Ryan Smith previously played at Rochester, Lake Boga & St Arnaud.
Cooper Scott, cant see much about him, other than Hay has signed a person with the same name.
Murrabit Rodeo on same day & time as round 0. Sure to take some numbers away from each other!

I have heard on the grapevine that Hay will have 13 players unavailable on Saturday due to a wedding?
Wouldn't the league ask hay if they want to play on that day, most weddings are booked 12 months out. Surely the league can get another club to jump in. You cant have a non event for showcase games outside the normal round where all sides play

I actually heard this late December and again recently so am assuming there’s some sort of wedding in the area? Number of people might be exaggerated I don’t know?

The Swan Hill Football Netball Club is delighted to announce that Connor Dooley has signed on for season 2026.
• 2x Premiership player Heidelberg
• Heidelberg Under 19s Captain
• Under 19s Heidelberg B&F
• NFNL Under 19s Runners up league B&F
• Geelong VFL Pre season 2024 & 2025
Connor joins us from Heidelberg Football Club in the strong Northern Football League where he has played the last 3 seasons with good mates Buol Majur & Jude Seymour.
Connor is a skillful and creative half back that provides real polish and ball speed from back half, Connor will compliment our back 6 perfectly and we can’t wait to see him get started Saturday night against the Storm.

They forgot to mention he is a reserve grade player along with Majur & Seymour.

Tyntynder to beat Hay by 10 points.

Swans to beat Ultima by 45 points.

Local footy is back. Looking forward to watching these games this weekend

If Hay are missing so many players as Footy Pie claimed then i doubt the margin would be that close btw Hay & Tyntynder.

You have to remember Heidelberg reserves would have won the central murray flag last year.

Yep if Hay are missing most of their senior side, tyntynder with the ex port boys win by 12 goals, lycett could kick 8

Should be a ripper Swan hill v ultima though

They wouldn't beat Nyah of the last 2 years

I played for North Heidelberg seniors and Epping when they were in the Diamond Valley, Their senior sides would have creamed the CMFL teams, not too sure that the reserves would have beaten the top sides though, def the bottom sides.

Heidelberg were probably the best side in the state last year, the nfl seniors allowed vfl players back with no games requirements. Their senior side included the geelong vfl captain, and they had probably 6-7 regular senior footballers play in their reserves grand final and a number of those reserves had played Coates League. Seniors and reserves didnt lose a game and both had very healthy percentages in a strong league

I haven't been back for several years, they have improved. They always had some top tier players in their seniors. however their reserves then lacked the depth. I found that the GVFL seniors were stronger back then when I played, I cant comment on other leagues.

Round 1 teams.

Not sure if I have missed it but has anyone stuck thier neck out and put thier expected ladder at the end of the season or has it been just week by week who they pick to win. Perhaps fortune favors the brave and see who is right or not.
