It was interesting to see the Dockers centre square set ups in Friday night, not once during the night did I see the same four players in the square at centre bounce downs.
I have never noticed it before, but struck me on Friday night as a good move by Harvey.
Did any one else notice it?

Yep, I noticed.
It helps when Sandilands gets 42 taps, and roves half of them to himself though.

I like Sandilands roving to his own taps, as a different way of clearing the ball. After all who wants to get in the way of a 125kg giant.

I also liked the way he tackled Ablett and a couple of others - it must of hurt to have him land on top of them - I was hoping for a few squashed short people from the Geelong midfield taken out by a rampaging Sandilands - lets hope he can do that to Melbourne this week as well.

I thought we were better when Carr wasn't in there!
I haven't been too impressed with him this season.

Josh has never been good at clearances. He's not a clearance winner. The only advantage of having him in the square is if he's at his niggling best he can annoy an opponent out of winning the clearance for the opposition. Josh doesn't have the height, speed, agility etc to clear the ball all that effectively and his hands aren't as sure as guys like Hase, Palmer etc

I think Harves and co. are doing are great job at turning this area around for us and finding out which players are effective and which aren't, unlike CC who just plonked the same guys in there every week.

I think rotating players through is a good idea but a fundamental basic is not having players getting sucked into the ball. When the bill spills out, your in trouble. Also, Sandilands did not have any moving targets to tap too and teams easier rove to his taps.

Michael Johnson was excellent at the clearances and teams have problems take his hands away.

Would like to see Mayne in the middle for most stages of the game because if he gets the ball, i think his speed would be great breaking away from the packs. (judd style).
