The only thing they can breach jobseekers for is "failure to accept a suitable job offer or commence in a suitable job, without a reasonable excuse"

There are no penalties for any other breaches of mutual obligation.
Always a sticking point

Always a sticking point

The only way they'll know if a jobseeker has received a job offer is if the jobseeker tells them.
Don't answer their calls, don't engage with them.
Only thing jobseekers need to do is fill out the declaration each time they report.

Yep, I did mine today. Im getting about $190 back. Had an absolute nightmare trying to connect centrelink to mygov. Phoned that number you listed and the female fixed it in 10 min and I will get the refund in a few days.
I'm glad I finished with centrelink years ago. What a nightmare they are.

Agree with everything in this. I don't want to go back to the $40 a day regime paying 72% of my benefit in rent and almost 20% in electricity, and having to sell shit to be able to afford petrol and food.

Im sure its going to be tough...but we cant afford to keep paying that much to welfare recipients.

Oh but it's their money too.

I've paid a lot more in tax in over the last 25 years than I will ever take back via welfare. That wont change, even if I stay on jobseeker for 20 years.

On ABC this morning it was pointed out that the proposed tax cuts for the Clive Palmers is more expensive than extending Jobkeeper at the current rate.

Just think about that.

I would suggest that most welfare recipients are not necessarily in your situation. They have taken a lot more than they have given back.

Bandt is marxist tool. Why would anyone listen to this flog.
More than anything else, removing direct stimulus at the beginning of a recession is just terrible economics. I think is was Salailah Medhora said on Insiders that any speculation about a double dip recession earns you a phone call from the Treasurer's office.

Evidence or is it just the vibe here.

So you think not giving tax breaks given to billionaires at the expense of programs like jobkeeper and jobseeker is marxism?

Nope. But he is a marxist. PhD.
What would you call the government taking over the means of production when it comes to gas? Marxism is about more than just welfare.
