Yeah, but, no one can do the things ravioli can do (so I'm told). Also Ravioli is allowed to jump on backs without making a legitimate attempt and chop players arm's when opposition defenders go for a mark.

Young is better than Ravioli this season.

Poor old hawfies. Year by year as more and more players pass Thyril by, you just keep on trying to move the goal posts.

First y'all swore blind that he was the best small forward going around. But of course he was not. It was childishly easy to demonstrate that there were a good number of better performed small forwards and Thyril was nowhere close to the best.
Then Y'all shifted the posts and said "But Rioli's REAL value is as in the midfield. That's why the other small forwards look better than him on paper. " But of course that was a great big porky pie. Thyril has never gone close to being a genuine mid. Never even gone close to being among the best 4 mids at Hawthorn. No tank, no consistency of effort. Just a small forward who has a gallop now and again. Very common.

And now you would have us believe that it's not fair to look at how productive the better small forwards are because Thyril REALLY does his damage as a "tackling machine".

And yet for 2016 to date he is not in the top 10 for average tackles. For season 2015 he wasn't in the top 100. Imagine that. A player whose primary value is as a "tackling machine" doesn't make the top 100 players in the league for tackling.

Once again, with just a little close attention we see what is before our eyes. Cyril Rioli is just a middle of the road small forward.

Given the way we're playing this year I don't feel extremely confident at the best of times. Hoping that we're pacing ourselves.

Still, regardless of what we do this team doesn't owe too many too much.
