Yes I have watched him in all the televised Sanfl games he has played in. He has a little bit more time due to the slower speed of the game in general. My main beef is he doesn't go in hard enough to me he is more of a finese player. I like his sidestep but he rarely uses it. His speed is what holds him back, simply put he is too slow by foot. Unlike Lyons his decision making is much better. AFL level catches him out, he cannot run hard both ways and he gets caught way to often for my liking.

Definitely happy that CEY has re-signed, of the unsigned midfielders he and Crouch were the ones I was hoping we kept. Crouch has deficiencies in his game (Disposal, decision making) but those things are fixable and his overall talent and ability to find the ball outweigh his downsides. CEY has a higher ceiling than guys like Lyons, Kerridge and Grigg IMO, had a great first half of the year before falling out of favor post-Walsh.

Grigg I like but realistically, he's just too slow to be a best 22 quality player unless it's as a pure inside-mid. Problem is we have guys who play that role much better than he does. Lyons and Kerridge are in similar spots, we have too many guys ahead of them in their best positions and they aren't good enough outside of their preferred position to be best 22.

Would a big part of Grigg only getting a 1 year offer, that deep in the new 'team first' approach he was careless and less than honest to the club with his recent trampoline? injury?
He does need to lift his game. I reckon many are seduced by his stylish left foot delivery, particularly on the training track.
