Hi and thanks for allowing me to post on your board. Just a headsup that the game between Collingwood and Geelong is NOT being shown LIVe into SA by channel 7. I have rang them and they said it would not rate here in SA. My reply to them was not nice . I also tried to email the Channel but they don't have an email address. (no wonder we in SA are referred to as THE BACKWARD STATE). I am not a Collingwood or Geelong supporter but love live footy on TV. I think this decision is a SLUR on the footy fans in SA . The game is being Telecast LIVE into Melbourne and I assume Tasmania as well. My reason for this thread is to ask all SA Colling wood members and fans and Geelong SA footy members and fans to please phone Channel 7 Adelaide and put in a complaint. I also ask all footy fans in SA to call Channel 7. This will be a fantastic game and I dont want to watch Home and Away and Better Homes and Gardens when i could be watching LIVE FOOTY. Thanks :)

Sure did mate. imagine working with 500 plus people and being the only Sainter at the time working there. Wanted and needed therapy after that lol

Mate, they don't really have an email address in Melbourne either.

They have a complaint section, but it does say that you will not receive a response.

The only way to contact any real Channel 7 employee is by phone it seems.

Give em hell, even if I am in Victoria, this is not good enough.

Cheers for the info and the attempt to get through to the plebs at 7.
They do not have any direct form of contact other than telephone in any state as far as I know. This way they can filter any negative comment well before anyone actually has to listen to it. Truth be known they would never actually do anything but answer complaints if they did not just ignore them all.

I hope you don't get confused with "our" Panther too often especially on the Saints board.:thumbsu:
 
Brisbane is exactly the same dude.. We are lucky to get one live game a week, usually on saturday afternoon... That is of course if there isn't some event that over shadows it (which happens all the time!) I got foxtel purely for this reason... Because the FTA channels don't show them live here Fox puts them on live. Even worse - very very few pubs show these games when NRL is on so unless you have fox you may as well throw away any chance of watching live games in this state.

And yes, better homes and gardens FTL..

Last week we had Better Homes and Gardens, and then 3 hours of Tom Hanks and a volleyball on an island. So, i was up until 2.30, then up at 7 to go to work.
I have ranted about channel 7 before, but seriously, why wouldn't they put this game on at 8.30-9.30?? What's the difference? It will rate higher then than it will at 11.30. A screaming pack of morons they are, and i sincerely hope they lose the game in the next rights deal, and they lose millions in sponsership along with it.

i called channel 7 in adelaide last night to complain that it wasnt live in sa and the response from the boofhead on the other end of the line was that its being shown live in melbourne to which i responded Mcfly Mcfly is there any one in there. what an idiot. they wouldnt even tell me how many complaints they had on this. the worst thing that happened was when 7 got the rights. whoever the afl sell the rights to next time should have a stipulation that friday night games must be shown live in afl states.:mad:
 
Mate i have called Channel 7 and i have contacted Patrick Keane who is the media manager at the AFL and he said there is nothing that can be done about it. Its totally up to the broadcaster.

Channel 7 will never show a live game on a Friday unless its Adelaide or Port playing interstate. Lets just hope the next TV rights deal includes live Friday night footy.
 
I'm not sure what the impacts are with anti-syphoning laws etc however the next TV rights deal needs to take into account multi-channel digital TV.

If Channel 7 wants to show Better Homes and Gardens at 7.30 to 8.30 on a Friday night then go right ahead. They can then show the footy live at 7.30 on Channel 72 and 8.30 on 70. They get paid for advertising on both channels so if you can increase your audience over both channels you are essentially increasing revenue.

I can't understand how using multi-channels will be a bad thing for a TV channel. You are essentially catering for footy fans as well as BH&G fans.

AFL said, so i believe, that in the next deal part of it was the broadcaster had to show the game live on a Friday night unless the game was in your state.
 
It's the same here in WA except we get the game on a 2.5hr delay CH7 is a joke and 10 is not better.
When Freo or Weagles play here we gwt them on Foxtel and free to air with thr previous rights if it was shown on free to air the would swap the other game to Foxtel which was good.
The sooner 9 and Foxtel get it the better it will be.
