Obviously I'm not a sadist and I dont think any player being injured can ever be a good thing...

However, how is Cornes' injury going to impact the game...

Who would have matched up on him, and who will that player now take?

How much of an advantage if any do we get, with him not playing

Again, bad luck to Chad, no one should get injured

I'm a big fan of the utility type players (Hird, Pavlich, Goodes) and Chad has to be one of the best going around at the moment. So I wish him a speedy recovery but do mirror your thoughts that at least we won't see him carve us up this week.

As for match ups, of course it depends where he lines up. I'm sure our forward line is stretched enough at the moment that we wouldn't have seen him go back. If he went forward, unfortunately I have a feeling Knighta would have put Courtney Johns on him, disasterous. Perhaps a NLM would be okay, has the mobility to follow him into the midfield for stints (if not the tank). Really though, anyone number of players would have needed to rotate on him, with most unfortunately a mismatch in Ports favor.

With Chad playing I think we would be looking at another 12 goal loss.

Now that he is not playing, I'm thinking 11 goals.

Yeah sorry, but with half the side out and 3 losses on the trot, I really can't find any positives.

I said before ANZAC day that either Lloyd, Fletcher, McPhee or Hille would be injured.

Lo and behold, Fletcher gets injured.

There is some sort of curse on us at the moment and I see no reason for it to end.

But by all means, I still hope we win!

I bought a lot of expensive players, and hence I didn't get the chance to have proper emergencies. Had to choose from 1st year draft picks. (Cheaps).

People were going on what great skills Ward and Myers have got, and both are ready made to walk in to AFL. (Infact I heard people suggest that those two are the best skilled players in the whole draft).

I fell for that rubbish talk, thinking they'll play regular games.

My midfield emergencies are kicking butt though, Morton and Palmer. Rucks are Kreuzer and McEvoy. Forwards are struggling also. Maric and Sellar haven't played at all.

Ward and Sellar have been named in the emergencies during the year. So they are close. Maric had a good game last week and Melbourne is struggling. He'll get a game soon. That leaves Myers and McEvoy. Might trade them soon.
