Chaffey Suspended

For those who don't know, Chaffey was suspended for 1 week for charging Tim Clarke.

He'll still be able to participate in the pre-season comp, but it's a shame he'll be missing from our round 1 lineup. He may be used as trade bait anyway!

I'm hoping we don't trade Chaffey though. He's a consistent small backmen who can really "fill the spot". I'd keep him ... but does anyone know anything about his contract (length)?

Don't reckon he will be traded I don't think he is someone that would be that attractive to other clubs anyway.

I dont think he will be traded anyway. Very good mark overhead and great kick is Chaff.

I think your seriously underestimating Chaffey's value. He's a better player than Torney and you let him go for a song last year due salary cap pressures.
Chaffey is acknowledged as a consistent contributor, very good mark for his size and his preparedness to put his body on the line. His kicking at times can lack polish though.

No real suprise that they'd give him a stretch.

If Miller is serious about trading agressively it would difficult to say whether his safe or not . Particularly if we were offered a very good deal for him.

Don't get me wrong I really rate Chaff but I'm just wondering how highly he is rated by other clubs. If we got offered a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick for him it probably wouldn't be worth trading him, but if he can be involved in some sort of deal to lure us a big name player then he is probably worth trading, but otherwise I'd definetly be hanging on to him.

Obviously he enjoys being fashionably late to start.

BTW, it would have been interesting to see what sort of penalty one of players in a team that has made the finals would have received for such a soft incident ... you can bet it wouldn't be a week off, that's for sure.

Given that Richo's charge was withdrawn, do we get the 50 m penalty and subsequent goal reveresed therefore having the match awarded to us.
