A few questions need answering.

Like WTF has chmabers not had a game up until now.

Our best player on saturday for sure.

Is he up for traid bait next year ??

Even last year, Callum was only coming on in the last 10 minutes of each quarter. He is one of the most un-accountable players in our team. If he is going to make it in the long run he has to play like that week-in, week-out. I wouldn't have said he was clearly our best player on Saturday but yes, he was close. Whether he is trade bait next year depends on how well he plays for the rest of the year, on what trades come up during the trading period and whether he still wants to stay after it seems the coaching staff have lost faith in him. Maybe it will all work out for the best in the end ala T. Longmuir at the Dockers who has also spent lengthy periods in the WAFL besides playing quite well. It's all about learning to play week-in, week-out.

He should only be traded if a) he wants out or b) a REALLY good trade comes up somehow involving a key position backman or there abouts. Even if he is outside our best 22 (which he isnt if he can play like he did on the weekend consistently) he is a more than handy squad member, if we want depth in the future to cover us when we get injuries we cant trade away all our decent players and leave us, like we are now, with only youth.

Agreed.

You've got to trade for someone who will improve your best 22. At present Chambers is good for squad depth. Therefore the is little point in trading him for someone who will similarly only provide squad depth (unless you go younger and then experience becomes an issue).

Talking of trades I have to say I am disappointed in Adkins. Really hasn't shown much. I know some of you Adkins fans will yell "game-time, give him some game time" but when he's been out there it's been a bit hit and miss. Has kicked goals at times but they've been frontrunning efforts, for mine. Still, hope he comes good next season.

With guys like Chambers and Collica, you just have to shake your head and ask where on earth they've been up until now.

The only thing which bothers me about Chambers is that he's a bit of a waif in terms of physical size- can get bustled out of contests. Basically, though, he's got 3 weeks + finals to prove his worth to the team... another few games like this week, and some very very tough decisions are going to have to be made when Embley and Fletcher return.

At this stage, I actually reckon it wouldn't hurt to leave Chambers and Braun where they are for this weeks game, bring back Fletcher, and start Judd on the hff. That'd get the Juddster away from the taggers, and put him in the situation where his best qualities- his blazing speed and finishing skills, would be most useful.
