His Granny obviously had some top quality wizzer.

Prefer Murphy in anyway. He just looks like he’ll be a player. From memory the draft year we got Thomas/Pendles, Daisy impressed in preseason straight away and debuted rd1 (like Stevo) and Pendles didn’t debut til later in the year as he took a bit longer to develop (not unlike Murphy).

Looking forward to seeing him again on Saturday hopefully establishing a spot for finals.

Silver lining to see Murphy get a solid run at it now. With Howe (hopefully) back next week, I'd prefer to see Oxley make way and keep Murph in there for a final

Going to be an interesting response from the boys tomorrow, probably a good thing they are on the road together, hostile territory. Freo would already be red hot for a response after their debacle last week, but looking forward to seeing what our boys do

Week at a time on selection!! Fortnight actually.........Moore Treloar and Howe and maybe Appleby and Goldsack will all bang the door down in a few weeks time.

No change normally is good news but this week its tinged with anger that another player has let the club down again. Giving me the shits. Murphy hopefully is a solid character. The experts on this board who know the young talent have been raving ever since we surpisingly picked him later in the draft so I'm looking forward to seeing if he can back up from his debut.

Pendles had glandular fever. Without that he may well have started round one alongside Daisy.

Very true, I really liked his debut so looking forward to him buttering up tomorrow

And yes a week/game at a time, just excited to look ahead after 5 years of clear September's!
 
 
Very happy with taking a no risk approach with Howe.
To have an extra few weeks off leading into week 1 of finals is perfect for him.

Disappointed not to see Fas but can't complain with the mix at the moment.

If we are confident of playing as selected............
Smith as hes the most experienced and can step in if needed but also least likely to play in September and therefore doesnt need the VFL match for form and fitness.

If we are concerned about playing as selected......
Daicos as WHE and JDG might be the most likely to be late outs.

Murray offers speed. Murphy offers similar size to Oxley but without the turnovers that Oxley has displayed regularly in the past couple of weeks. He's also a smoother mover than Oxley.

WHE also looked good at training today. It was only a quick trot on the surface but he looked good.

There would have been chaos if we took Murphy with our pick 6 after trading away our 2nd rounder, which he would have been available at.

Glad they played it safe with Steve-o and risked it with Murphy.

If we took him at six you wouldnt ever know he was going to be available second round. No doubt the club had to make a decision between Murphy and Stephenson and they probably never expected Murphy to slide and the club to land both of them. Not sure Stevo was the "safe" decision given concerns about his medical condition. Its clearly looking a pretty safe bet now though!!!

Thats true, we would have never truely known besides where he was predicted to go. Still unsure how Murphy at 6 would have initially been recieved, however im glad we never have to find out!
